On Sasaeng Fans and Fandoms
"Fame has its ups and downs."
I am supposed to be taking a hiatus this week due to my Final Term, but I just can't help but react to the recent news floating on the web. I can't hide my anger and disgust. This has to stop.
But there are two sides to a story. There is the Good and the Bad. Let me start with the bad news and end with the good one. I know we all need this.
THE BAD
First Case: Byun Baekbeom's Wedding Incident
Wedding Day turned into a nightmare. The supposedly intimate occasion for Byun Baekbeom became a nightmare. His brother Baekhyun, was extremely mad and embarrassed not only for himself but also for his brother (notice his face; his ears turned red). It is also mentioned that some fan hit him after he ignored them. How rude! Please just evaporate!
The Byun Family didn't expect this to happen because Baekhyun initially told them that the fans didn't know about his schedule, but apparently, they did. The fans, those sasaeng fans, somehow got themselves into the wedding, took photos, videos and made a total chaos out of the wedding. The whole venue was a mess to say the least.
"This is my one and only hyung and his one and only wedding, why would you do this? Crazy human beings!" Baekhyun angrily chimed. He repeatedly apologized to his sister-in-law, and it was not even his fault! Shame on those sasaengs!
They even left Chrysanthemum (flowers for the dead) in front of SME, and it is said to be for Baekyun. To add more assault to the injury, a blog post from Baekhyun's relative surfaced the net. Causing more buzz from the fans; resulting Baekhyun as the 2nd most searched on Naver.
What angered me more is the alleged trash talking and blaming of those Sasaeng Fans on us, International Fans. Seriously? That's just too much! All we can ever do is love and support them from afar. And what did you, Sasaeng fans do? You invaded their privacy and still are! I can't even think why you deserve to be called their fans.
International Fans: "Sorry Baekhyun, we can’t protect you from the sasaeng fans like we promised to." This just breaks my heart. :(
Second Case: Tao's Weibo Display Picture, Post and Status Updates
This translates to: "I love those people who use the right way to keep on loving EXO! I don't know how to thank you. I can only say I love you! Thank you!"
"I really can't stand those who call us in the middle of the night, those who keep texting us and sending Kakao Talk messages to us from day to night, those who secretly follow us wherever we go, what is the meaning of this? I really hate those who interfere with my life! I like to go out shopping and eat with my friends but I don't like it when someone follows us around, I'm not a criminal! I am not going out to commit a crime! I just want to quietly relax after work, to have my own space! But not now, not like this!"
Suho: "Fans who do not see us personally are special."
Tao: "I love the fans who love EXO the right way."
Tao really seemed angry at the wedding incident. And I can't really blame him.
Third Case: Ulsan Fansign
Some fans felt the aura at the event at Ulsan. It was gloomy and different. But the boys are good at fan service. You probably forgot to notice.
This deadly glare from Tao. Fans, what do you expect?!
Chanyeol looked really gloomy, not in his usual playful self. I can feel his pain.
Jongin, Yixing, Baekhyun & Xiumin are missing in action at the said event. And you probably would figure out why. But then again its a good thing they weren't there in the first place.
The Last Straw: Hyoyeon + Kai and Lay on Dancing 9.
Dancing Machines Kai and Lay join Girls Generation Hyoyeon for a special stage on Dancing 9. A lot of fans were thrilled and happy, but definitely not the Sasaengs.
Upon release of the episode, the Sasaeng fans started calling Hyoyeon a slut. Is that even fair?! I mean they hurt EXO, and now they're causing a glitch on Hyoyeon. Making this small issue into a big one. This is definitely the last straw.

The alleged photo of the car, EXO-M members were in.
Fans inside a black car chased EXO-M's van and cut in front of them, resulting on the collision of the artists' cars. They were frightened, but none of the members were hurt. Thank God!
SASAENG FAN INCIDENTS MUST HALT, STOP EVEN!
THE GOOD
The OFFICIAL FAN CLUB for EXO will be launched soon. (I guess it was put on hold because of the incidents) I can't wait! And I'm sure most of you are anticipating for this. This would not only organize us fans, but also prevent these fan incidents from happening. Let us learn from this events, and learn to love and support our idols and fandom the right way.
