About TOSS Education Programme
The Telangana State Open School offers educational opportunities to those candidates who missed the chance of Formal Schooling of above 14 (SSC) and 15 (Intermediate) years of age in Open Distance Learning mode. It is offering Open Basic Education of Classes III, V, VIII, SSC and Intermediate courses equivalent to Formal Studies.
These certificates are eligible for both Higher Education and Employment. The State Government, Council of Boards of School Education in India, Ministry of Human Resource Development and Department of Personnel & Training recognized the courses of Open School. The flexibilities offered in Open Schooling well suits dropouts, who were away from education for quite a long time or working men and women. Learners can have the option to select their choice of subjects, Medium and attend classes only during Sundays and Holidays without any hindrance to their Professions. Fee concession is also offered to SCs, STs, OBCs, Minorities and all Women to encourage them to join in Open Schooling Programmes.Telangana Open School Society has enrolled 2,38,788 learners in its SSC course out of which 1,51,505 were passed and 1,82,829 in Intermediate course out of which 1,03,105 were passed till 2014 in Telangana. The Government aims to provide more quality services through Open Schooling Educational Programmes from this academic year onwards.
