Former X Factor winner Steve Brookstein has accused the newly crowned X Factor champion Matt Terry of fake crying during last night’s final.
Brookstein who won the first series of the show has been notoriously bitter about his fall from fame over the past 10 years, constantly chastising the show and Simon Cowell on his Twitter account, as well as releasing a book called ‘Getting Over the X.’
It didn’t take him long to express his opinion on the new winner last night, as he retweeted an account implying that Matt Terry was faking his emotions during the final.
I have never seen anyone try to squeeze out their tears more. The fake is strong with this boy, he'll do well #xfactorfinal #MattTerry

Brookstein, 48, seemed to get great pleasure from the fact that ratings for the popular show were falling this year posting this tweet during Saturday night’s show:
Great news, X Factor suffers worst Saturday night final ratings…EVER!

But of course he could see no better time to slip in a bit of self-promotion and remind his followers about his book about his time on the XFactor:
Oh good #XFactorfinal is trending. I can remind people that they should read my book and cleanse their soul. https://t.co/xWSxeVdrbk

He seemed unable to let go of his anger, reminding fans of the show just how he was treated by Simon Cowell and Sharon Osborne all those years ago:
12 years ago today Sharon Osbourne called me a c##t, Simon Cowell offered up his ex-girlfriends and I won the #xfactorfinal

And while he claimed is ‘indifference’ to this year’s series, he wasn’t fooling anyone with his series of tweets. Let it go Steve.
I can honestly say I've never known such indifference to X Factor as this year. It's like it's not even on. Well done British public.

The singer released his only album Heart and Soul in 2005 before being dropped by Simon Cowell’s label for good.
Maybe this year will be the year that Steve finally moves on with his life and stops hating on the XFactor… probably not though.
