The reality star launched her book ‘Selfish’ in May of this year but sales of the highly publicised selfie album have sold less than expected.
The star has the second most popular account on Instagram and boasts over 41.4 million follower yet RadarOnline has reported that only 32,000 copies of her book have sold in the past three months.
The mediocre sales may come as a surprise to the reality star after 500 limited edition copies of the photography book sold on Gilt.com for $60 (around €55) each in early April.
The limited edition copies bore the selfie queen’s very own signature and also came complete with a special cover featuring Kim dressed in a Bikini.
The selfie photography of Kim Kardashian retails in Easons for €17.99 and features personal images of Kim from her early years as a wardrobe stylist to life as a celebrity.
Since the official launch sales have flopped with reviews for the book being less than flattering. One 5 star review on Amazon.co.uk said ‘It was cheaper than my local bulk toilet paper’.
While another comment stated ‘I bought this as a prank present for a friend. HaHa. (He isn’t my friend anymore)’.
Other fans who bought the book have recommended it with one saying it’s “very clever. Great insight into Kim and her life”.
But it’s not all bad news for the pregnant star as her book has done better than other Kardashian family book projects.
Kim’s book sales have managed to exceed that of Kendall and Kyle’s fiction novel titled Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia. Selfish has also topped momager Kris Kardashian’s cook book titled In the Kitchen with Kris: A Kollection of Kardashian-Jenner Family Favorites.
The 34-year-old is well known for her love of selfies and is the first celebrity to have a wax work figure made by Madame Tussaud’s who can take selfies with visitors to the famous museum.
The wax figure was unveiled in June this year and will soon be joined by a replica of her husband Kanye West in a few weeks time.
