The five leaders got off to great start in the first week of Operation Transformation with all everyone hitting their weight loss targets.

Between the five of them, they have lost a staggering 37 lbs in one week.

But it was Veronica Horgan from Cork who made a big impression, losing an incredible 11.5 lbs in just one week.

The 24-year-old said she was feeling a bit exposed from last week’s show in which she revealed she was bullied.

But Veronica was moved to tears from all the support she got through the Operation Transformation Facebook page.

‘It’s really hard that people are being nice. It’s almost easier when people are criticising you. To have a brave face on.’

Louise Ormsby from Adamstown also impressed in the first week.

She managed to lose 5.5lbs in just seven days as well as giving up smoking.

The 34-year-old started the show weighing 13 stone 12.5lbs but is now down to 13 stone 7lbs.

Her target for next week is 4lbs.

Eilish Kavanagh started the show weighing 13 stone 2lbs. Her target was 3lbs which she hit exactly.

Her weight loss goal for next week is to lose another 2lbs but she needs to follow the plan exactly which is difficult for the cafe owner.

The heaviest leader in Operation Transformation also got off to a fantastic start.

Alan Mullen lost a very impressive 7 and half pounds in the first week but he stillgot a bit of a wake up call from dietician Aoife Hearne for being a ‘Mammy’s Boy.’

Aoife was stunned to see Alan ask his mammy to ‘whip up’ his breakfast rather than put two weetabix in a bowl and add the milk himself.

‘The biggest thing that jumped out at me is that you’re not really taking responsibility yourself for the changes.’

‘You’re 21 years of age, you’re a young man, and I saw your mother putting two weetabix into a bowl for you.’

Alan, who’s target for next week is 4lbs, admitted that he got away with murder but that it was now time to ‘grab the reins’ for himself.

Mark McArdle were the first to brave the weighing scales on the John Murray Show on RTE Radio 1 on Tuesday.

Mark’s starting weight was 21 stone and 11.5lbs but he has lost an amazing 9.5lbs in seven days.

Mark now weighs 21 stone 2lbs and his next weight loss target of 5lbs will take under him 21 stone.

The Dublin Fire Brigade are showing they no pushovers and are just as tough as the army.

If they weren’t feeling the pressure already, the fire bridge are reminding them that the leaders have half a million people watching them every week.

‘If they come here, there’s no point in saying you’re not going to do it. You’re going to do it and that’s it.’
