Phobic Studios ‘ Glare, a side-scrolling action platformer, is now available for Windows, Macintosh and Linux operating systems on Valve’s Steam entertainment platform at http://store.steampowered.com/app/243140/ or from Glare website at http://www.glaregame.com.

Glare is set in an artistically stunning solar system of round worlds where you play as The Shiner, a being of pure light given shape by an ancient suit of armor that is summoned from starlight to heal the sun and defeat the infectious Ramora. A game about discovery, the Shiner travels through the Toric Caster, uncovering new ways to defeat the evil threats of the Ramora and cleanse the corrupted worlds.

The Shiner’s primary weapons are its glare and a gun. Casting its light will affect certain environmental elements throughout the game, as well as guide the player through each of the worlds. With six planets to explore and cleanse, Glare delivers new weapon upgrades and abilities in each level with increasing difficulty.

“At its core, Glare is a classic platformer – on steroids. We set out to make a game that was accessible for all gamers and something that we ourselves wanted to play,” said Brian Powers, co-founder of Phobic Studios and Creative Director on Glare. “We adopted a unique style in which the player works their way toward the center of the planet, fighting bosses at the end of each world. This design allows players to consistently encounter new entities and learn new ways to interact with their glare, all the way through to the end of the last level.”

Additional Game Facts & Features:

Clutter-free – no HUD, no inventory to manage and no dialogue – immediately start playing as soon as the game loads.

Completely atmospheric – no dialogue, making it universally compelling, regardless of the player’s native language.

Six planets to explore, each set in a different environment of jungle, pillars, desert, snow and volcanoes.

Achieve new abilities and weapon upgrades in every level.

Infinite lives and automatic saves will put the player back in the game at the last checkpoint, which are generously placed throughout the game.
