When Taq couldn’t compete in organized sports, he could be found outside skateboarding, or playing beach volleyball in Oxnard California where he grew up.

Taq’s active nature took on a new form in 2002 when he stumbled upon Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu. While training in these two sports, Taq met a coach and soon to be mentor, who taught him the fundamental roles nutrition and fitness play in succeeding in athletics, preventing injury, and in promoting vitality and overall health. This led Taq to his current passion of researching and implementing the right way to exercise and the right way to fuel the human body. Taq took his newfound passion seriously and everything he learned he would share with his friends and family. Taq’s enthusiasm for helping people train smart, led him to work with both athletes at the competitive level, as well as, individuals who were brand new to the fitness industry.

Taq graduated from Chico State in 2007, and continued to further his knowledge of fitness and health while pursing a career in the health industry. Taq’s journeys eventually led him back to Chico where he discovered that his old friends John and Sarah Fragoso had recently opened JS Strength and Conditioning. Michel Laine -Michele Laine’s history with movement and fitness began at the young age of 3 when she first fell in love with dance. She grew up in Woodland, CA, where she was an avid dancer all the way through high school. Through the years she also played competitive team sports including basketball and softball, but the dance floor was her true passion. Michele graduated UC Irvine in 1997 with a BA in Dance; Teaching Emphasis and spent many years not only dancing professionally, but also teaching classes in tap, hip hop, and jazz dance in Southern and Northern California, as well as Hailey, Idaho.

Being active her whole life, Michele was no stranger to the gym. She spent time training in boxing gyms, dabbled in weights and spent hours on bikes and treadmills in the “globo-gym”, but she was looking for more and when she dove into the world of strength training, she realized it was the prefect fit. Her introduction to personal training began shortly after the birth of her second daughter in 2006. Michele began working out Norcal Strength and Conditioning under the watchful eyes of Nicki Violetti and Robb Wolf, which helped Michele regain her strength and improve her conditioning. During this time, she was also introduced to a new way of eating, exercising, and overall thinking. Over the next 9 years, Michele became more than a clean eating advocate and avid weight lifter – she also realized the importance of positive thinking and visualization and how the mental aspect of getting healthy is extremely important to achieving ones goals.

A successful entrepreneur, Michele loves finding ways to combine her hobbies and passions into her work. Her own health journey eventually led her to her good friends John and Sarah Fragoso, and JS Strength & Conditioning. Pursuing her passions by combining her knowledge and background into the health and fitness industry, Michele now blogs lifestyle pieces on Everyday Paleo and helps coordinate events for John and Sarah such as the JASSA Retreats through her company, Laine Consulting Services. Michele is a certified personal trainer and she uses her studies in nutrition, movement, kinesiology, and dance injury prevention and rehabilitation combined with the philosophies taught at JS Strength to help her clients achieve their goals. Michele has a passion for improving lives and is excited to share her journey with others who want to improve theirs as well.
