Cyber Monday Tips to help you save loads of money & time!  Who doesn’t like shopping in their pajamas?? For that reason and others, Cyber Monday has become a favorite shopping day for many consumers. No long lines or crowds to navigate, and many retailers offer several of their in-store Black Friday deals to online shoppers  as well!

Before you fire up your computer and start making those purchases, check out the following 10 tips:

Cyber Monday Tips – 10 Helpful Ideas!

Sales Begin Early & End Late. Although Cyber Monday is technically December 2nd, retailers begin early. Stores such as Walmart.com and Kohls.com have already begun their Cyber sales! Plus, many of the deals from Black Friday are extended throughout the week beyond Cyber Monday. Amazon.com has an entire week of Cyber Monday deals. However, the absolute best deals will probably be on December 2 and start at 12:01 am while you’re sound asleep. So, either stay up late or wake up early to take advantage of the best selections.

Prepare Your Computer. Make sure your virus protection, firewall and anti-spyware protection are updated and active. This is key to protecting your computer.

Shop Only Secure & Trusted Sites. Regardless of when you’re shopping online — Cyber Monday or the other 364 days of the year, buy only from sites you know and trust, and use a credit card that offers “chargeback” protection instead of using your debit card. Before entering your digits, make sure the site is secure by looking for the “https” in the address or a padlock icon in the corner of your browser. If you feel uncomfortable about entering your credit card information online, consider purchasing gift cards for your favorite stores such as Target,  Kohls, Amazon.com, Walmart, etc…to use for your online purchases at these stores. No credit card information is needed if your purchases are lower than the value of your gift card.

Keep Pertinent Information Handy. I hate filling out online forms. It becomes tedious and time-consuming. One of the easiest tools to help fill out online forms much faster is roboform.com. Roboform is a service that securely stores your passwords, personal information and even credit card information in one place. With the click of one button, to fill in the bulk of needed information, you’ll safely save a ton of time online.
Roboform.com offers different price packages, from free all the way up to $49.99, depending on your needs. I use the free version to fill in my personal information (shipping address, etc…) and choose to fill in the credit card information myself.

Utilize Shopping Services. E-Bates and ShopAtHome are wonderful online tools that everyone can utilize. Earn cash back on your online purchases whenever you go through either one of these shopping services.

Do Your Homework. Since you can’t see or touch the product before you buy it, it’s a good idea to do a little in-store reconnaissance for exact sizes, models or products that you’re looking to buy online. Also, research return policies before you shop. Sites like Amazon.com have very easy return policies and will often pay for return shipping. You just print the return label from your computer. In addition to doing returns by mail, some stores, like JC Penney, allow online returns in their brick and mortar stores for a hassle free experience. As with everything, keep your receipt from the product.

Start in Electronics. As with Black Friday, if you have any electronics items on your list at all, you should score those items before moving on to clothing, shoes, toys, etc… Electronics usually go faster than other online items. Complete these purchases first and then move on to other items on your list.

Go for Free Shipping. If the online merchant you’re looking to do business with doesn’t offer free shipping, then shop around. It’s likely that you will find a comparable alternative that does afford it’s customers free shipping.

Online Promo Codes & Deals. Online COUPON CODES to help you save money at popular stores are available for you to take advantage of, not only during Cyber Monday and Cyber Week, but everyday! These COUPON CODES will absolutely help you save on those gift items!!

Close the Deal. You may be leisurely sipping your coffee while browsing the deals in an ultra-relaxed manner, but unlike Black Friday, an item isn’t yours until you’ve purchased it. Your selection may be in your “shopping cart”, but that doesn’t mean much in the virtual world. So, if you want a specific item, put down your coffee, be quick about it and close the deal…especially if it’s a smokin’ hot deal!

By following the tips above, you should be able to save time and money as you go about completing your online shopping list. Be prepared with your list of items and prioritize your purchases. You’ ll then be able to move quickly and successfully through the online stores. The bottom line: In the virtual shopping world, if you snooze, you lose! So, be prepared to get down to business!
