PALO ALTO, CA–(Marketwired – June 15, 2015) – Today 15 enterprise application leaders announced their commitment to standardize public applications and development in the enterprise with ACE (App Configuration for Enterprise). ACE is the open standard approach for managing and securing apps deployed via enterprise mobility management (EMM) solutions. Once an application developer implements ACE standards, users simply download the public-facing application and corporate resources are automatically configured, allowing users to instantly and securely use the app in their jobs. New ACE members include bigtincan, Deputy, DocuSign, Dropbox, Everbridge, Imprivata, Kony, Lua, MicroStrategy, OnBase by Hyland, ScrollMotion, ServiceMax, Showpad, Syncplicity by EMC and Webalo.

ACE was launched earlier this year by AirWatch, Box, Cisco, Salesforce, Workday and Xamarin. Its members are committed to standardizing and simplifying the way public applications are configured and secured for enterprise use. While app developers are fundamentally changing the way that consumers engage with companies, organizations too are transforming business processes and workflows through mobile applications. ACE aims to accelerate that transformation by making deploying applications in workforces easier and simpler for end users and organizations.

ACE is an open and vendor-neutral set of standards for enterprise application development that helps IT easily deploy secure business applications to their users. Before ACE, public application developers had to utilize EMM-specific software development kits (SDK’s) and app containers, requiring them to create and maintain multiple versions of applications. Today, harnessing the capabilities made available from the latest iOS and Android operating systems, ACE applications deployed via an EMM solution are configured to:

Automate the first-time setup experience with app configuration capabilities

Secure app connectivity to corporate networks with per-app tunnel

Avoid separate user login requirements for each app with single sign-on

Allow access to native apps only on secure, compliant devices with access control

Prevent data leakage with a flexible set of security policies including open in and copy/paste controls

Wipe corporate data remotely from lost or stolen devices
