Boren Scholarships offer unique opportunities for U.S.
undergraduates to study abroad in world regions critical to U.S.
interests (including Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin
America & the Caribbean, and the Middle East). The countries of
Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand are excluded.

Boren Fellowships enable U.S. graduate students to add an important
international and language component to their graduate education through
specialization in area study, language study, or increased language
proficiency. The Boren Fellowship supports students studying languages,
cultures, and world regions other than Western Europe, Canada,
Australia, and New Zealand.
Mr. Craig Fredrickson, Boren Awards Program Officer from the
Institute of International Education (IIE) in Washington, D.C., will
present an information session on Boren Scholarships and Boren
