KO Olina, HI (ALICE@97.3) – Hey Alice listeners, it’s Colette here again blogging for Jayn as she broadcasts from Aulani! Let me tell you about the awesome thunder and lightening rainstorm we experienced here yesterday.

You know a place is beautiful when even what’s considered “bad” weather is amazing! One minute it was sunny and hot and the next….a downpour! The rain pounding on the ocean and the landscape the of resort really was gorgeous to see. You have to check out Jayn’s video in the video section of the website to see it for yourself!

And even with the rain there was still lots to do in the resort! I walked around and took time to really appreciate all of the details of the architecture, hawaiian culture and the little touches of Disney you can find around the resort.
We learned today from Bo Bolanos, the Concept Design and Art Director of Walt Disney Imagineering, that the artwork around the resort is actual artwork of Hawaiian natives brought in to make Aulani their canvas for some of the most beautiful artwork I have ever seen.
You can’t help but walk around this resort and think “Who thought of all of this amazing-ness and what does it all mean?” Ask any castmember and they will have an interesting story behind every piece of art in the resort. It’s truly an enlightening experience.

Today, it’s bright and sunny again and I plan on hitting the pools right after this broadcast to soak up every last minute we have here! If you get the chance, the Aulani Resort is truly a must-visit. I’ve learned so much, experienced all sorts of new things and have gained memories I will never forget!
