My Thoughts About Sugar Crush

Sugar Crush has ten chapters and is not hard to read or understand. The authors explain the science very well.

The surgeries for nerve compression repair helped me understand more about feet as it relates to diabetics.

I have always wondered about how and why people who have diabetes have problems with their feet and what actually causes the foot issues.

I had no idea that sugar caused the swelling of nerves. Now, I understand why and how this works.

If you want to learn more about how you can improve your health, read Sugar Crush. There is a reason diabetes is on the rise. It is because people are eating too much sugar.

A Doctor Who Cares

I enjoyed the stories that Dr. Jacoby shared about his patients. One story that comes to mind is one about a woman who had a history of diabetes in her family.

Dr. Jacoby told her about changing her diet and what could happen if she did not make a change, but she was convinced that her fate would be diabetes and she kept eating the sugar.

Three months later, Dr. Jacoby’s office called to confirm her appointment, they learned that she had passed away from a heart attack.

This was a chilling story and to think the patient could have prevented an early death if only she had made some changes.

Do not accept your genetic pre-disposition fate, instead do something about it.Click To Tweet

Dietary Changes

The authors of Sugar Crush share with you the damage sugar causes to the body.

They also share with you the foods to avoid and the foods to include in your diet.

You find two recommended eating plans and they are a The Ketogenic Diet and The Blood Sugar Regulation Diet.

Conclusion

I’ll leave you with a quote from Dr. Jacoby’s epilogue:

“After reading this book, you need only remember a few fundamental concepts:

Stop eating sugar.

Start eating good animal fats (from grass-fed sources).

And don’t steal honey from the bees. It feeds new, baby bees and we need them to help pollinate the planet.”

Here’s another powerful quote from Dr. Jacoby’s epilogue:

“Taking control of your diet will do more to keep you healthy than an endless array of drugs designed to fill the pockets of robber barons. And just because you have a genetic predisposition for a disease does not make it inevitable that you’ll contract that illness.”

Sugar Crush is a book that I highly recommend you read.

Sugar =

Chronic Inflammation + Trauma =

Nerve Damage, Pain, and Dysfunction
Do you suffer from ailments your doctors can’t seem to diagnose or help—mysterious rashes, unpredictable digestive problems, debilitating headaches, mood and energy swings, constant tiredness? If so, nerve compression is likely the cause.

What Grain Brain did for wheat, leading peripheral nerve surgeon Dr. Richard Jacoby now does for sugar, exposing the shocking truth that a diet high in sugar, processed carbohydrates, and wheat can compress and damage the peripheral nerves of the body, and lead to pain, numbness, and tingling in the hands and feet, as well as a host of related conditions, from migraines, autism, and ALS to gallbladder disease and diabetes.

Over the years, Dr. Richard Jacoby has treated thousands of patients with peripheral neuropathy. Now he shares his insights and tells the story of how he connected the dots to determine how sugar is the common denominator of many chronic diseases.

Practical and accessible, Sugar Crush breaks down our dangerous addiction to sweets, offering a unique, holistic understanding of the toll sugar and carbs take on the body, and demonstrating how dietary changes can help nerves regain their normal function dramatically.

Whether you have diabetes or prediabetes, or are even just concerned about your health, Sugar Crush is the essential guide to knowing the dangers of nerve compression. Complete with dietary advice, the latest thinking on ways to prevent and reverse neuropathy, and a quiz to help you assess your nerve damage, this book will give you the tools you need to quit sugar, calm your nerves, and reclaim well-being.
