Get Ready to Crowd Fund Alison Jane’s Exciting Interviews with Icons & National Treasures

Dear Readers – what an incredible adventure I have embarked on with Ethical Hedonist Magazine, since leaving The Lady Magazine during the summer of The Olympics!

School for Creative Startups Scholarship

Doug Richard, the former Dragon, awarded me a scholarship for the idea of a very exciting new magazine – one focused on culture and sustainability – a green Vanity Fair – which would put sustainability on the map and make it glamorous, fun, luxurious and aspirational – with my exciting interviews as the USP, that no one else would have. After all, I have been working as a leading feature writer and fashion editor for eighteen years at The Times, You, The Mirror, Country Life and most recently The Lady.

So, off I went to School for Creative Startups, and a ten-month series of business boot camps in Holborn and Somerset House, graduating in July 2013 as a bright-eyed journalist turned shiny new entrepreneur. Ethical Hedonist became a fully-fledged SME in August 2013 – both scary and exciting, as it is now my full-time occupation.

It all started with amazing organic cakes!

Welcome to my world. The world of The Ethical Hedonist –it is the life I have led since a young undergraduate fell madly in love with proper cake and real bread at tiny organic bakery in Bangor, North Wales. It changed my life forever, in the most wonderful way and now I am sharing all my adventures and ideas with you.

For the past nine months, the magazine has been like a beautiful chrysalis, as Christian Bell, my filmmaker turned talented web developer slowly transformed EH into the magazine I have dreamed of since I first decided it would be a rather exciting idea to put my journalism on the web.

Colin Morgan Interview is a global hit

During this time, the focus needed to be on development, and not always the iconic interviews that I am renowned for. Though I did manage to do a few notable interviews! I am very proud to tell you so far, my interview with Colin Morgan, has been seen and hopefully read by more than a million people via Ethical Hedonist. This is so exciting and taught me a profound and exciting lesson.  I don’t need a newspaper baron as a vehicle for my interviews that touch, educate and inspire people. I can now do it for myself online. My interview with Camilla Batmanghelidjh, on the tragedy of child poverty in the UK is having a similar impact.  Please share it with all your friends, family and contacts.

Now to the news you have been waiting for! I am ready to start crowd funding some new, in-depth interviews like the Colin Morgan, John Simm and Gordon Buchanan exclusives and fashion stories with some of your beloved actors and national treasures.

My thought-provoking, inspiring interview with the actor Colin Morgan touched people around the world.

So to the news you have been waiting for! I am ready to start crowd funding some new, in-depth interviews like the Colin Morgan, John Simm and Gordon Buchanan exclusives and fashion stories with some of your beloved actors and national treasures.

Eleanor Tomlinson – A Beautiful Chameleon

I have a fascinating, exclusive, taped interview with one of the most exciting British actresses I tipped for stardom 18 months ago in my Jubilee story for The Lady – the very lovely and talented British actress, Eleanor Tomlinson, currently filming the lead in the new Poldark.  Just who is Eleanor Tomlinson? – An actress who seems to specialise in playing icy Princesses and remote Queens.  In this compelling, candid interview, Eleanor reveals her great childhood passion to follow her parents into acting, her early film projects including the extraordinary film she made with John Malkovitch and what it was like to place the mean girl in Alice in Wonderland, working with the director Tim Burton. I will look at what motivates and makes her tick as an actor, her self-possession and charming serenity. Eleanor frequently displays remarkable maturity. I will also discuss how she copes with the tough world of film, and not always getting the part that she really wants. I will examine why she is such an interesting choice to play Demelza in Poldark. I will also review all her crucial roles to date and her emerging position as a style icon – with her exciting and independent patronage of up and coming British fashion designers and couturiers- with comments from designers who are dressing Eleanor for premieres and the red carpet.

There will be some great rewards on Indigogo for this project – including a webinar, where I will discuss the interview and my work interviewing icons. There will also be competitions and giveaways and shoutouts to readers who helps to support this feature-writing project.

Interview and Fashion Shoot with Rosalie Craig

Rosalie Craig – An exclusive interview and Made in Britain fashion shoot with Rosalie Craig – The award-winning star of The Light Princess at The National – I would like to invite you to crowd fund an interview and fashion shoot with my lovely friend and very talented actress and singer, Rosalie, who lit up The National, like a lovely bird of paradise – as Princess Althea in late 2013 and early 2014. In this very exciting exclusive interview, you will able to donate different amounts of money to fund the project and even come and help out on the big day! In the interview, Rosalie will talk about her training, the highs and lows of acting and singing, what it meant to her to win the starring role in the Light Princess and her current projects. The pitch will launch in May? June, and the feature will happen in London in August, to fit around Rosalie’s current projects. For the fashion shoot – Rosalie will wear Made in Britain couture and ready to wear by some of the emerging stars of London Fashion Week and other amazing fashion artisans.

John Simm In depth Interview – I have all the material I need to write a definitive, in-depth profile on the actor John Simm.  I will launch this as a writing and research project shortly.
