Jan. 12--HIGH POINT -- One of the city's largest employers is expanding its work force because of the growth of the home health care field. High Point-based Advanced Home Care will add 55 local jobs and more than 100 companywide as part of an expansion. The home health care provider is taking applications now at its website -- www.advhomecare.org under the employment tab -- and at its corporate office at 4001 Piedmont Parkway in north High Point off N.C. 68. "The jobs are actually currently open now," said Siri Scott, manager of marketing, communications and public relations with Advanced Home Care. Most of the positions are clinical jobs for registered nurses, physical therapists and occupational therapists, Scott told The High Point Enterprise. But Advanced Home Care also is hiring customer service workers for its support center in High Point, as well as sales and information technology positions. "We have people who work with insurance and billing. It's a vast range, and we are recruiting for all of them," she said. Advanced Home Care is expanding its work force for two main reasons, Scott said. The company has expanded its territories covered by home health care services, adding contracts with new hospitals and medical offices. "The other reason is growth in the health care industry," Scott said. "With some of the changes in health care, more care is being driven from the hospitals and physicians to home care agencies, to continue the care of patients after they are discharged." The company has consistently ranked among the top 20 employers in the city. "Advanced Home Care has grown steadily and impressively since it was founded here in 1983," said Loren Hill, president of the High Point Economic Development Corp. "The board members of the High Point EDC were impressed with the company when we met at the company's High Point headquarters 15 months ago." Advanced Home Care has 1,500 employees companywide, with 900 in the Triad, Scott said. "We're just excited to be out there as one of the companies growing and hiring people," she said.
