Deccan Auto, the first Integrated bus manufacturing plant in India will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Telangana Mr. Chandrashekar Rao

Hyderabad : The Chief Minister of Telangana, Honorable Shri Chandrasekhar Rao will  inaugurate the first integrated bus  manufacturing plant in India on July 11.  The facility set up by Deccan Auto Ltd at Kodakachani Village in Medak District, 40 kms away from Hyderabad   has the capacity to manufacture 3000 units per year. The group has invested more than Rs 250 crore in the bus manufacturing facility.

The Deccan Auto bus manufacturing facility is another milestone in the company’s strategic plans for India. It will be a world-class facility which will serve both domestic and export markets in Asia and Africa where the group has a very big presence in the Cement and Steel Industry” informed MSRV Prasad, Chairman of Deccan Auto Ltd.  “We are committed to bring in the best technology and manufacturing practices to the Indian Bus Industry”, he added.

Deccan Auto has technical association with Zhongtong of China, a Government held company exporting to more than 30 countries worldwide said VA Norhi, Managing Director of Deccan Auto.

Sridhar Kalmadi, Managing Director of Corona Bus Manufacturing informs that MSRV Prasad has majority stake in Corona Bus Manufacturing. Corona Buses will also be manufactured in Hyderabad Deccan Plant.  Corona already has an impressive order book of more than 300 buses and would be targeting to add another 1000 buses order this year.

Located in 75 acres area, the plant has come up in 18 acres with a covered area of two lakh sq feet. The plant has modern testing facilities and paint booth that can handle more than 3000 buses annually.

Deccan Auto and Corona Buses will have the largest product portfolio in the country with rear engines said M Balaji Rao, Director Corona Buses.  The range includes buses from 8m to 18m in length, The Corona buses will focus on the city bus segment and the sleeper coaches. The Deccan Buses are built on the integral coach design like that being offered by Volvo Buses.

The manufacturing unit is accredited by ARAI (Automative Research Association of India) and conforms to the New Bus Code. Leakage testing facility, modern painting booths with ovens, Bus Transfer platform, 100% power back up, jigs and fixtures with hydraulic/pneumatic controls, ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant), Diesel filling station, Weigh Bridge, four lakh liter water storage capacity among others.

The Deccan Buses with the Technical association of Zhongtong Bus Holding company, will manufacture Luxury Coaches with integral design which enhances the passenger comfort. All buses will have rear engines, air suspension, airconditioning and the best of interiors.  The buses will be in 8m, 12m and 13.7m length.

The 8m rear engine bus is the only one in India today with the above configurations.  The 12m and the 13.7 m buses will have Toilets, pantry and individual Audio Visual Systems. The buses also come in an executive seating arrangement of 2×1 semi sleeper seats.

The Corona Buses are based on the monocoque design, the only one in India, which enhances the passenger comfort. The buses have independent front suspension like latest cars and all buses are powered with Cummins Engines. Additionally, city buses have automatic transmission and air suspension.

The company’s vision is to manufacture ‘world class’ buses in India for the masses and be a front-runner in introducing of appropriate technology.

Deccan Auto along with Corona aims to double its production to 6000 units of buses in the next 6 years.  This year the company will require a manpower of about 400, which will go upto 700 by the end of 2017.
