Role Description:
Working in an Agile environment you will be part of a product team contributing to the ongoing evolution of eShopWorld’s suite of ecommerce products. This will mean working with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Engineers and QA in our development teams based in Dublin and Newry. We expect the Principal Front End developer to be comfortable working on their own and as part of a team. We are looking for someone that will fit in with our culture of collaboration, communication and teamwork.
As all of our products are web based you will be experienced in developing and architecting large scale web applications. You will possess knowledge of modern UI technology concepts, best practices and patterns. We build an optimized checkout experience for some of the largest retailers in the world so performant and compliant web applications will be your primary focus.
As the Principal Front End Developer you will be an expert in JavaScript, CSS and the latest HMTL/Browser specifications. You will be an expert in at least one modern JavaScript front-end framework – preferably AngularJS. Using your knowledge of responsive design techniques, you will be a leading voice in architecting the Front End components used within our suite of products.
We are a .NET house, so you should have experience in using some of the technologies that support the development of .NET applications: .NET 4.5 and MVC 5. Our solution runs on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform so any knowledge of working in this environment would be very beneficial.
You should love what you do and are driven to introducing and maintaining the front end standards that should be adhered to by all developers. Educating and mentoring other developers will be part of your daily routine.
You should want to do things better – we believe in continuous improvement of the development process – and you should have an opinion and contribute to improving. You should care about agile, continuous integration, continuous deployment, TDD, unit testing and integration testing.
You should have Front End architecture experience and you will be asked to describe some of the Architectural patterns that you have implemented recently.
Desired Experience:
At least 5 years’ commercial experience with JavaScript, CSS & HTML.
At least 2 years’ commercial experience with AngularJS.
Experienced in architecting front end components and also developing scalable and modular front end components
Experienced in Agile development teams using SCRUM.
Intellectual curiosity, learning agility, and enthusiasm for tackling tough problems.
Outstanding communication skills required – primarily the ability to communicate ideas.
Code in your own time outside of work and enjoy solving programming problems.
