7 Sad Reasons New Network Marketers Will Fail in 2017

Network marketing is an exciting $190 Billion dollar industry, but it’s a sad fact that 97% of new network marketers will fail. Here’s 7 sad reasons.

Are you excited about starting a new home-based business for 2017?

Have you been researching network marketing as a viable option to supplement or replace your income?

If so, this article’s for you.

What I’m about to share with you is something I see all the time:

New people joining my network marketing business, telling me all about how they are going to be the best rep I’ve ever seen, and that they’re going to be making $10,000 a month in two months, then. . .

Guess what?

They are gone in a month or two, quietly, as to not disturb my expectations of them.

This epidemic (of people quitting network marketing as soon as they join) would drive anyone to go insane and quit themselves, unless. . .

You knew that 97% of the people “who try” network marketing will fail.

Why is this number so high, and does it even matter?

The answer is NO. It doesn’t matter that 97% will quit, because the efficiency and payout of network marketing is so great, that you truly only need 3% to make you a generous income.

But, that’s another article in itself, so let’s see if we can define and prevent some of the reasons why new network marketers quit.

Here’s the 7 Sad Reasons New Network Marketers Will Fail in 2017

One – The Product will “Sell Itself.”

Too often, a new network marketer will join a company because they think that the product is clever, unique, and has a powerful benefit.

The new marketer thinks that if they just show someone the product that the product will magically just sell itself, that the product will just fly off the shelves, and that people will line up around the block to buy your product and you will be rich!

The reality is, if this were true, every commercial you watched on TV would make you jump up and run to the store to buy whatever was on your TV or radio.

The truth of it is, most people hate commercials, they hate spam, and they don’t even care about your product!

So, how do you sell your product?

Maybe you’ve heard this quote before: “People buy people.”

That’s right. Most people buy a product or service from someone they know, like, and trust.

That means, if you want to sell your product effectively, you need to become a likeable person that represents the business as the authority.

How do you become the authority?

You create content that helps the general public solve their problems.

You provide free, unsolicited information on why network marketing is a powerful business model, or how the product can reduce a pain or ailment.

People really don’t care if your product has ingredients from the Sacred Sea, or from the first minerals discovered on Mars.

They only care about: if you are the person that will lead them successfully towards their goals, whatever that may be.

True network marketing leaders don’t necessarily care what the product is that they promote.

They can walk into any MLM company and rise to the top ranks overnight, because they are already positioned “as the authority.”

Two – No Marketing Skills

Today, more than ever, you have to know what you’re doing on the internet.

If you want to become successful in network marketing, you have to know how to brand yourself on social media.

7 years ago, you could spam your links on Facebook & Twitter, but today people aren’t buying it, and they definitely won’t buy from you if your headshot on Twitter is an egg and of your cat on Facebook.

Again, your prospects want to know that you are the authority and can lead them towards their goals and solving their problems.

So, how do you become the authority on social media?

You pick one social media platform that you like and master it.

You become the guru who knows how to generate leads with that platform.

You know how to generate business by doing a couple systematic steps that have personally exploded your business with that platform.

So, pick one and master it. Buy all the info products about generating leads with that platform.

When I started my first MLM in 2014, I generated ALL my leads with Twitter.

Of course, I sucked in the beginning, but I slowly failed my way to finding what worked and generated over 5,000 leads with Twitter.

Three – No Action = No Results.

A lot of new network marketers think they will instantly get success because they took action and joined a network marketing opportunity.

I used to think this way about college.

I thought, if I just ordered the college catalog that listed the classes I wanted to take and daydreamed hard enough, I was already on my way to a degree, but the reality is: If you don’t take action (meaning, generating leads) you don’t have a business, you’re just dreaming.

You have to start generating leads in your business and you have to get as many eyes on your company’s landing pages as possible.

No leads means no money, no matter how you look at it.

Again, find a platform you could be happy using for a long time and stick with it until it generates leads.

You can use: Blogging, videos, or social media. If you’re really old-school, you can drop flyers and go to “meetups.”

Four – Relies on Sponsor or Upline Too Much

Some new network marketers get excited when they find out that my company uses a Binary system, meaning there’s a left leg and a right leg that prospects go down to fill the organization.

They get excited to find out that I basically build one of their legs for them, that’s just the way a Binary works.

So, what happens is that the new network marketer gets mesmerized by my activity and thinks that they will get rich off of me.

They end up not generating any leads themselves. Little do they know that the Binary only pays them when they begin to bring in their own people.

Another thing new network marketers can do is just wait for me to tell them what to do.

Most of the time they don’t do what I say and come back to me in a month and repeat the question, “what do I do now?”

As Todd Falcone said: “Work with those who are ‘working’, not just ‘talking.’

New networkers need to take action and learn training on their own time.

I’m not saying I ignore my new reps, but I tend to work more with those who are taking action.

I watched MLM training videos on YouTube 2 to 3 hours a day for the first 6 months in my business and bought every MLM book on Amazon.

If you want success bad enough, you do whatever it takes.

Five – Lottery Ticket Approach

Some newbies think that if they just get “that one person in,” that they will be rich!

New distributors who think this way usually think about a couple relatives that they could approach and get them in their business, like some uncle that did sales thirty years ago.

The new network marketer says something like this: “Yeah, when I get Uncle Bob in he’s going to bring in a thousand people. Then, I can live on the beach in Mexico!”

The reality is: You will have to bring in a lot of people into your business to find a couple of leaders who will bring in 80% of your income.

Get used to the idea that most people will quit on you.

The key is understanding that you are merely sifting through a lot of people to find a couple leaders.

If you can handle that concept, you’ll go far!

Six – Changes Companies Often

Jordan Adler did 12 MLM companies before finding success. . .

Ray Higdon did 10 MLM companies before he found success. . .

What did they finally do to find success?

They worked on themselves.

They started treating their business seriously and did whatever it took to make it happen. They faced their biggest fears, and started actually listening to others, because true leaders are “coachable.”

Bottomline: Changing companies won’t improve your chances of success.

Like I said before, any leader can walk into any company and rise to the top.

True success lies within.

That means overcoming negative thinking, erasing poverty mindset, and doing more income-producing activities, consistently for a long time, even during the hard times.

Seven – No Belief

A lot of new network marketers don’t understand the industry.

They don’t understand that they have a legitimate, powerful business in their possession that could realistically make them $20k to 50k a month in 10 years or less.

It’s hard to believe the seriousness of a business that literally only costs $100 to $300 a month, but it’s true.

The quickest way to find belief is to attend a network marketing event.

If you can’t do that right away, watch Eric Worre’s movie, Rise.

Another way that new marketers lack belief is in themselves.

Many of us have been battered in the real world and our dreams have been snuffed down because of the hardships of life.

It takes a lot of courage to rekindle our dreams and actually believe again that we can create a dream lifestyle.

I truly believe that network marketing was my last option to achieve some sort of success with my life.

Without network marketing, I would still be flipping burgers, but now I work in my slippers from home.
