Before I sat down to write this “The Walking Dead” Season Five Episode One review I re-watched the entire episode on my DVR. Now that I am actually writing, I am watching it for a third time. BTW, I cracked open the good old legal pad and pen for this recap because its just that crucial. Yes, it was just that f*cking EPIC people. So much so that the show broke a television viewing record with 17.3 million viewers between the ages of 18-49. WHAT?!? That is major with a capital MA! Enough with my Walking Dead propaganda. (maybe that wasn’t the best word to roll with, but imma roll with it, lol) Here are the 6 Reasons The Walking Dead Season 5 Premiere was Beyond Epic.

Rick reminded us who they were

The wrong folks to f*ck with to be exact. The show opens with the crew all preparing to take on the termites and fight their way out of Terminus. Our favorite band of girls and guys certainly have proven over the course of 5 seasons that they know how to survive.

Carol kicked up her “badassness” a few notches

“I’m going to kill people” will rank right up there with “Look at the flowers” in the race for most memorable and badass The Walking Dead quotes. Carol is back and her timing couldn’t be any better. She does what needs to be done in the moment in which it needs to happen. (We all know some of our favorite characters struggle with that from time to time… *coughs Rick*) Like blow up Terminus, cover herself in zombie guts and kill people.

Tyrese maybe the kind to save babies but a thorough ass whopping is not far off, so don’t push him.

Watching Tyrese beat the captured Termite after he tried to snap baby Judith’s neck was such a rewarding moment. Lest not forget the zombie slaying rampage Tyrese went on last season out of rage. He don’t want to be a killer but don’t push him

Eugene … Really?…. Thats The Cure? …… A Fail Safe Pathogen….

I don’t even fully understand the mechanism for which Eugene plans to save humanity but it sounds cool dude. Just reaching into my mind archives where my masters degree in biology lives I would suppose a pathogen created to kill “dead people” would also kill the living. But what do I know… Let’s see how this plays out.. If nothing else its a great setup for “The Walking Dead DC”.

The is NO SANCTUARY

As is true in life I guess. Happiness, peace and prosperity live where you create them.

Morgan is back and seemingly better than EVER.

Enough said!

Bonus: The penguin actor, Robin Lord Taylor, from Fox’s hit new series “Gotham” was the first to meet his doom at the bleeding in first minutes of the show. A love for hit series with The Walking Dead and Gotham I see Robin *winks*
