The world and her costume designer have already seen plenty of pics of Benedict Cumberbatch being admirably silly at the Oscars, but because the Daily Mirror used the event as an excuse to revive my otter meme, I thought I’d put together this mini-tribute. (The otter comes from The Daily Otter, fittingly enough.)
It also serves as convincing evidence that Benedict wasn’t actually trying to detract attention from Bono and his fellow U2vians, but was in fact trying to catch a small chunk of tuna thrown by a considerate onlooker. After all, the Oscar ceremony goes on for a loooong time, so he probably needed all the sushi he could get…
