FEATURING AN EXCLUSIVE LIVE PERFORMANCE BY CAST MEMBERS OF
MATILDA THE MUSICAL

New York, N.Y. – On Monday, May 19, Ralph Lauren Corporation will present the Fall 2014 Ralph Lauren Children’s Runway Show at the New York Public Library. Hosted by actress Uma Thurman, this exclusive runway show will include next season’s best back-to-school styles and will feature a live performance by the cast members of Broadway’s Tony Award-winning Matilda the Musical, based on the iconic Roald Dahl children’s novel.

In keeping with Ralph Lauren’s longstanding commitment to philanthropy, the brand will create a special T-shirt which will be showcased in the runway show that benefits charitable literacy programs around the world.  The T-shirt, part of a new limited-edition capsule collection featuring a new Polo Pony designed to promote childhood literacy, will be on sale at Ralph Lauren stores and RalphLauren.com beginning August 5. A percentage of sales from the capsule collection, as well as from the looks in the Fall 2014 Children’s Fashion Show, will benefit Reach Out and Read in the United States, as well as a number of other charities globally.

Showcasing standout looks from the Fall 2014 Ralph Lauren Children’s collection for girls and boys, the runway show will feature 55 models on the runway including children of celebrities and notables such as Alicia Keys’ son Egypt and Li Xiang’s daughter Angela Wang. Ralph Lauren has also tapped singer Madison Beer to attend as the #RLKids ambassador talking to guests about the importance of reading as well as picking her favorite looks from the show.

For Fall 2014, Ralph Lauren Childrenswear presents a wide-reaching collection of fashionable looks for boys and girls, with style references ranging from collegiate prep to outdoor explorer. Just in time for back-to-school dressing, tried-and-true favorites—mesh polos and rugbys, signature button-downs and sweaters—feature updated graphics and logos, and new seasonal palettes, perfect for classes, weekend activities and everything in between.

Reach Out and Read is an evidence-based nonprofit organization of doctors and nurses who promote early literacy and school readiness in pediatric exam rooms nationwide by giving new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud.
