What? I don’t know what you’re talking about, nothing happened this past week month. I’m okay, why you asking? Honestly, everything was fine, and so was I. …Dammit.

Tv

Bunch of new trailers and previews you might have missed: Luther (but without her), Preacher, Search Party, The Girlfriend Experience,

11/22/63, Angie Tribeca, Superstore, Shades of Blue, Shameless, Galavan, Legends of Tomorrow, American Crime (one and two), Good Girls Revolt, Transparent, Outsiders, F is for Family, Vinyl, Agent Carter (one, two and three), and A Very Murray Christmas (one and two).

That serial masterpiece that is Fargo got renewed for a third time (how will they manage to stay on track, I have no idea), and renewals also came for Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, Z Nation, American Horror Story, and Blindspot. FX axed The Bastard Executioner, and Wicked City got canceled because

Ed Westwick

was in it, or at least that’s my rational explanation. Twin Peaks is not in your near future.

The November edition of “we just don’t know what to do next”: a new Star Trek series is coming, same goes for a Fast and Furious-based one, while a female Van Helsing, a Snowpiercer adaptation and a Lost Space remake are in the works. If that’s not enough, Riddick will get one as well (and a movie), and Kevin Bacon will star in a Tremors’ TV sequel.

Did you miss the first look at the new season of Penny Dreadful? Here it is. Did you miss HBO’s trolling game? Take a look. Did you miss that Negan is coming to The Walking Dead, and that they cast the bestest of best? See for yourself. Did you miss that Amy Poehler and Tina Fey will host SNL together? Breathe.

Movie

James Franco and his obsession with porn got him his billionth role this year. Paul Rudd and Alexander Skarsgard are the most random duo ever, nevertheless, Mute is happening. Noomi Rapace will play Amy Winehouse and Chloe Moretz will be The Little Mermaid, both in two completely unnecessary movies.

— Scarlett Johannson is getting typecasted a bit (even as a cartoonish porcupine), but I honestly don’t mind, I’ll take her over half Hollywood. Taylor Kitsch is still working, because everyone forgot the last season of True Detective. I haven’t, I won’t forget and I won’t forgive. Bill Hader is on his way to become a serious actor and I could not be happier about it, while I almost forgot that Tina Fey and Martin Freeman are set to star in the same movie. High-fiving a million angels.

Jennifer Lawrence wants to direct, while Kenneth Branagh will do that and also star in

Murder on the Orient Express. That next chapter in the Alien franchise will be called Covenant, and this is how Eddie Redmayne will look like in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. No one should play Freddie Mercury because there’s shouldn’t be a biopic about it, but if there has to, at least it’s Ben Whishaw.

Paul Thomas Anderson will not direct Robert Downey Jr. in Pinocchio, and I like to think that’s because Maya Rudolph slapped some sense into him (no offense RDJ, I’ve been on your team since I was nine, but no one gives a shit about Pinocchio. No one). Memento is getting a remake and that’s the stupidest and most reckless decision ever made. Wages of Fear is also getting a remake, but

Ben Wheatley is directing so it’s fine. Aw man, remember when Edgar Wright was set to direct Ant-Man? Sorry, that was not the point, but this is how I react every time he’s mentioned.

Marvel

Well, this happened, and now the world is a better and a worse place at the same time. Go figure.

— In the meantime, Amy Landecker joined that ridiculously talented cast that is Doctor Strange’s, and so did Scott Adkins (hopefully not as Danny Rand, hopefully not even in a talking role). Agents of SHIELD added Slingshot, Agent Carter has Ken Marino, and Netflix’s Luke Cage brought in Sonia Braga as Rosario Dawson’s mother.

— On the losers’ Fox’s side, Doug Liman will direct Channing Tatum in Gambit, and that Fantastic Four’s sequel literally no one wanted is currently out of the picture.

DC

Nicole Kidman won’t star in Wonder Woman, but Robin Wright will (along with others). Mariah Carey will voice the Mayor of Gotham in Lego Batman, which is…I mean, honestly, there are no words. I’m all for her as a singer (I still have Butterfly’s tape, I know what I’m talking about), but have you ever heard her talk? Good grief.

Arrow cast

Tom Amandes as The Calculator. And here I was, thinking Ant-Man was the most ridiculous name.
