Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced the release of Revolution: The Complete First Season on Blu-ray and DVD on 30th September.

From producer J.J. Abrams and writer Eric Kripke, the action-packed science-fiction drama features 20 episodes. The series stars Billy Burke (The Twilight Saga), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Tracy Spiridakos (Being Human), Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost) and Tim Guinee (Iron Man).

Revolution is set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian future where the world has been corrupted by power. The full synopsis for the show is:

A drama with sweeping scope and intimate focus, Revolution is also about family – both the family you’re born into and the family you choose. Charlie’s (Spiridakos) life is dramatically changed when a local militia arrives and kills her father, who mysteriously – and unbeknownst to her – had something to do with the ‘blackout’. When her brother Danny Matheson is kidnapped by one of the militia leaders, for a darker purpose, Charlie must reconnect with their estranged Uncle, a former U.S. Marine living a reclusive life. Together, with a rogue band of survivors, they set out to rescue Danny, overthrow the militia, and ultimately re-establish the United States of America. All the while, they explore the enduring mystery of why the power failed, and if (or how) it will ever return. This is a swashbuckling journey of hope and rebirth seen through the eyes of one strong-willed young woman.
