Elevate Promo, a local company from Provo, has created a t-shirt with “Best. Day. Ever.” printed on it, and it got ME thinking about what my best day ever is. (You can win one of these t-shirts! Read through the post and enter to win at the bottom!)
To me, it’s all about the simple things: taking a drive to someplace new, spending a day with my family, reading a good book or just enjoying the beautiful weather and relaxing. Money is not a factor in the best day ever, because it’s not really about what you do, but who you spend it with.
The picture above is all about one of my “best days ever”. One of our favorite things to do is set up our pop-up movie screen in our backyard and invite neighbors, family and friends over for a backyard movie night. We did this a few times last Summer, and we are excited to do more movie nights this year. Our first movie night was this weekend, and we watched Planet 51 while laying on the grass in our jammies snuggling in cozy blankets. How can it not be the “Best. Day. Ever.” if you get to spend it in your jammies among the company of your family and friends?! These are the memories I will cherish when my kids are grown and gone with families of their own.
Wearing the “Best. Day. Ever.” t-shirt brought up some interesting conversations with many people. It’s amazing that one simple phrase can spark memories in somebody and bring a smile to their face. Many of the stories I heard were about time spent with family, the day they got married, the day their children were born, vacationing to exotic places and a day spent on the beach. One of the most touching answers came from Karen, who remembers her best day as the day she found out she was truly cancer free.
