Gluten Free Disney Dining for iOS

We’ve been focusing on Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival all week, so it seemed natural to wrap things up with a “Digital Guide to Disney Dining.” After all, the Food and Wine Festival is not the only time Walt Disney World guests focus on food. With hundreds of options available for all tastes, it can be a little overwhelming to narrow down your dining choices. And, what if you have a special dietary concern? Fortunately, there are numerous apps and websites to help guests plan their drinking and dining experiences either before or during their Walt Disney World vacation. Here are just a few!

Disclaimer: Every website and app is updated at different times. The update information provided in this article is accurate as of its posting date. Check the website or app’s download screen for the most recent update.

APPS

My Disney Experience – FREE – iOS and Android – The official Walt Disney World application has an entire section devoted to dining! Guests can browse menus from every restaurant and shop across Walt Disney World. Simply select a location (park, resort, etc.) and every menu is available, including prices and even details like what ice cream flavors are available at your favorite shop! There is a handy restaurant location map included, as well.

Beers and Ears – FREE – iOS only – Walt Disney World guests who love beer can have a digital treasure map right in their smart phone with Beers and Ears. There are two versions of this app and both are free! The standard version provides not only a comprehensive listing of every beer served around the Walt Disney World Resort, but also a detailed description of each item. App users can sort by alphabetical listing and location (map included). A blog can also be accessed through the app. Beers and Ears also has a special Food and Wine Festival version, with a rundown of every specialty beer served at the annual festival.

Disney World Menus – $1.99 – iOS and Android – Brought to you by TouringPlans.com, this app provides prices and descriptions for more than 14,000 items across the Walt Disney World Resort. The app description claims each menu item is updated every 90 days to ensure accuracy. Neat feature: this app shows guests which items are eligible for Disney Dining Plan snacks, as well as special event prices.

Gluten Free Disney Dining – $1.99 – Walt Disney World guests with gluten intolerance can have peace of mind with this app. More than 300 menus are available here with gluten free food options and descriptions. Disclaimer: this app is meant as a guide and is not an official or doctor approved. However, the app developers are long-time Disney travelers with years of dining experience with this dietary restriction.

WEBSITES/E-BOOKS

The Disney Food Blog – Site owner AJ Wolfe has put together what most fans consider “the” comprehensive Disney dining guide. I think I’m alone in saying–I want her job! Visitors will find detailed descriptions of almost every food and drink option available at Walt Disney World, including special events! There has been multiple daily updates on the site re: Food and Wine Festival! AJ has written a number of Disney Dining e-books that can be downloaded to tablets or smartphones to be used as pre-vacation planning tools or brought to the parks as a handy reference. There’s also a section on Disney recipes, so if you fall in love with a dish, you could make it at home!

AllEars.net – Site owner Deb Wills has created one of the best online Disney resources with AllEars.net! Visitors can find all things Disney from A to Z on the site and Deb’s Dining section is crammed full of menus, recipes, Disney Dining Plan information, discount information, character meal guides and so much more! Deb and her staff does their homework and AllEars.net reflects their dedication and passion for Disney travel!

DisneyDining.com/DisneyDiningPlan.com –  These sister sites provide recent dining news and reviews from around Walt Disney World Resort. From Disney Dining Plan overviews and strategies to tips on where to find the best snacks, these two sites provide extensive coverage for anyone needing advice on where to eat at Walt Disney World! I also like how DisneyDining.com sprinkles park-related news and tips throughout the site; it provides a little variety compared to other dining sites. (Disclaimer: I am also a contributing writer for these sites, but received no form of compensation to include them in this post.)

AllergyEats Disney World – This was quite a find! My daughter and I share a number of food allergies (sorry, sweetie!) and eating out beyond our local restaurants can be a challenge. Walt Disney World has always been fabulous with accommodating our needs, but it would be nice to know about these options ahead of time. AllergyEats Disney World allows visitors to select their particular allergy/allergies from an extensive list along with a location either on or off Disney property. From there, the site pulls up restaurants at each location with allergy-friendly reviews. All of the reviews are user-submitted, but the detail provided is impressive. I will bookmark this site on my phone to use for future trips!

Each of these digital resources can help create the perfect Disney dining experience for your next trip! All it takes is a few clicks and you have the entire world of Disney dining at your fingertips.

Happy planning!
