New Delhi: First made-in-India sports car ‘DC Avanti’ is going to hit the automobile market next month. It’s taken almost three years since the car was showcased at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo.



It has been designed by Dilip Chhabria, an Indian automobile designer.

With its stunning look and style it is expected to catch the eye of sports car aficionados. It measures 4,550mm in length, 1,965mm in width, and 1,200mm in height. Its body is made of carbon fibre components.

Powering the Avanti is a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, mounted between the seat back and the rear wheels. The motor produces a peak power output of 248bhp along with 241Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. It has safety features like anti-lock braking system.

The expected base price of the car is Rs 25 lakh-35 lakh.
