Prime Minister Modi’s allegiance and alacrity to the modern means of communication greases and galvanizes his administrative muscle. He has thereby given much emphasis to the same and has consistently been involved in building up several platforms and channels of digital communications right from the day he took oath as India’s Prime Minister. The PMO website was duly overhauled and made as an initial platform for communicating with the incumbent Prime Minister. The MyGov portal drew much ado from all quarters. The Ministers as well as the Members of Parliament have been trying out their hands on digital devices for the delight of their constituents and stakeholders.
How can the party which won a thundering victory in the elections can be left behind? The BJP’s IT cell is in the process of creating at least two dedicated ids for people to send in suggestions to the Prime Minister’s Office.
This people to party to prime minister listening post is bound to create a sensitive governance framework. Considered as an integral part of the Prime Minister’s ‘Social Media in Nation Building,’ belief these IDs will have a dedicated team monitoring the letters which will be forwarded to the PMO once in 15 days. Vinit Goenka, the National Co-Convener of the BJP IT Cell has been culling all the necessary tools for making it happen without glitches.
Depending on the nature of the letters, the letters will be forwarded to the respective cell in the PMO and acknowledged with replies as per Mr. Goenka. He expects a wide range of mails spanning from a simple feedback to schemes to major grievance against policy decisions.
In his scheme of things, the grievance redress system would not be confined to emails alone. All BJP offices would be getting a grievance cell up and running, collect letters of feedback and complaints from people and send them across to the national IT cell which would in turn forward them to the PMO.
So far so good for the creation of a seamless feedback cum grievance redressal mechanism right from the lowest electoral booths to that to the highest echelons of power.
