Congressman Lance hosts roundtable with patients and advocates of 21st Century Cures Act in Flemington

Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) hosted a roundtable with patients and advocates on the major 21st Century Cures Act that passed the House of Representatives earlier this summer. The bipartisan Cures Act, which Lance helped craft as a member of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, passed the House overwhelmingly and now must pass the U.S. Senate to head to the President's desk. Lance gathered stakeholders to his Flemington district office to strategize.

"Millions await the life-saving medicines the Cures Act will bring to the market," Lance told the group. "We saw a tremendous victory in House passage of this critical measure, but now we need to focus our efforts on movement in the Senate. I thank all the patients and advocates for their devotion to this great cause but our work is not yet complete."

Lance urged the patients and advocates to reach out to U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker to encourage their support for the measure in the Senate. The group also discussed a media plan and promoting personal testimonials to call attention to the legislation.
