Chrysler said on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 they will issue a recall of nearly 870,000 vehicles to remedy the faulty brake system. The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Durango is part of a Chrysler recall, together with other models from 2011 to 2014.

The Chrysler recall is reportedly having problems that could affect brakes in certain SUV models. Reports also added that one accident recorded but so far no injuries are related to the Chrysler recall.

The said vehicles being recalled by the Chrysler company will check the brake boosters on affected models of vehicle, and replace the booster if they show signs of corrosion. Part of the recall program, all vehicles will also equipped with a shield to insulate their crimp joints from water.
According to Chrysler Group, they will shoulder for the expense of the patch-up work will be made.
On Chrysler Recall Statement related to “Brake Booster Shield”, estimated affected customers:
Affected customers – an estimated 644,354 in the U.S.; 42,380 in Canada; 21,376 in Mexico and 159,685 outside the NAFTA region – will be contacted with instructions to schedule service with Chrysler Group dealers.
