Assistive technologies
In addition to the Ease of Access Center, Windows includes three programs that can make it easier to interact with your computer.
Magnifier. Magnifier is a program that magnifies a portion of your computer screen, making it easier to read. For more information about using Magnifier, see Make items on the screen appear bigger (Magnifier).
Narrator. Narrator is a program that reads the text on your screen aloud. For more information about using Narrator, see Hear text read aloud with Narrator.
On-Screen Keyboard. On-Screen Keyboard is a program that lets you use your mouse or other device to interact with a keyboard on the screen. For more information about using On-Screen Keyboard, see Type without using the keyboard (On-Screen Keyboard).
The most commonly used accessibility options are available in PC settings. To get to them, swipe in from the right edge of the screen and tap Settings (or if you’re using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and click Settings), tap or click Change PC settings, and then tap or click Ease of Access.
You can also get to accessibility settings from the desktop. To do this, press the Windows logo key + U.
Starting Narrator
There are different ways to start Narrator. These are the four ways many people prefer:
On a keyboard, press the Windows logo key +Enter.
On a tablet, press the Windows logo button and Volume Up button together.
On the sign-in screen, tap or click the Ease of access button in the lower-left corner and choose Narrator.
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you’re using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.) Tap or clickEase of Access, tap or click Narrator, and then move the slider under Narrator to turn it on.
Exiting Narrator
