The Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) and Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University (Kalashnikov ISTU) traditionally hold International Student Race "MINSK - IZHEVSK - MINSK" within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Belarus and the Udmurt Republic (Russian Federation).
THIS YEAR'S 11th INTERNATIONAL STUDENT RACE "IZHEVSK - CHEBOKSARY - CAZAN – NIZHNY NOVGOROD - MINSK" COMMEMORATES THE 69th ANNIVERSARY OF THE VICTORY IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR AND THE 70th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATION OF BELARUS.
Remarkably, the memory of these great events does not reside only in history books and films; it inspires athletes to strive for new victories fostering persistence, strength and willpower.
This year the students of Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University n.a. R.E. Alekseev (NSTU) and Kalashnikov ISTU, as well as young people from Volgograd, Yelabuga, Kazan, and Cheboksary, take part in the Race.
On May 8, 2014 at 9.30 AM the participants are to be welcomed at the Mound of Glory.
Mass Race involving student athletes from the BNTU, Kalashnikov ISTU, and NSTU, as well as the best athletes of Minsk Savyetski District, takes place on May 8 at 11.30 AM, running from Kalinin Square along Nezavisimosty Avenue to the BNTU (Nezavisimosty Ave, 65, building 1).
The Requiem Meeting scheduled for 12 PM is to be held at the Stela commemorating the BPI (former BNTU) lecturers and students who perished in the Great Patriotic War. This event marks the end of the Race.

While in Belarus, the Delegates will enjoy some culture activities including visits to Palace of the Republic, Belarusian State Philharmonic Society, the Historical and Cultural Complex "Stalin Line", and matches of the Ice Hockey World Championship. Besides, the guests are going to have a city tour of Minsk, a Hero City, and a BNTU tour closing with the concert organized by the BNTU Center for Culture and History.
