Hello everyone, sorry for the lack of posts recently, as you'll probably be feeling it too, Christmas time is quite stressful plus it was my birthday yesterday so I've literally been swamped with things to do. I will be doing a birthday haul very soon and can't wait to tell you all about my birthday. But first, i'd like to introduce you to a bit of a different post, me trying my hand at interior design! I was really excited when I saw that Rachel at freshdesignblog.com  is hosting a challenge from The White Company over the festive period where you simply showcase items from The White Company’s home collections to illustrate how you would style your bedroom over the festive season. Since I was little, my Mum's always said that i have an eye for interior design, i've just always loved choosing new patterns and designs for my bedroom. I love nothing more than decorating my room. My bedroom has always been white, but I decorate it all the time with different accessories, I find that when the walls are white, there are endless amounts of things that you can do to change the look of your room, quite simply. I always just change my bed cover colour and the accessories accordingly and then it gives my bedroom a whole new feel. So I guess you're wondering what kind of feel i'd like to go for this Christmas:

Before I decided which colour scheme I wanted to go for, I got some inspiration from weheartit, you can see some of my favourite bedrooms below, they can easily be recreated using TheWhiteCompany.

Funnily enough, I was in Trafford Centre in Manchester the other day shopping and the first shop I went to was The White Company, I remember looking at one of the beds and saying to my mum, I need that bed in my life! After scouring the website, I have decided that i will go for the bed above in the centre of the collage for my festive bedroom, as it's quite neutral but it still has a really beautiful big headboard, which is grey,so it will go with my colour scheme perfectly. I really love cushions and pillows and always make sure that I have triple the amount that I need on my bed, I say pile them up, you can never have too many cushions, they're comfy and fun. I absolutely love these 'love' and 'sleep' pillows and these would certainly be on my festive bed, mixed with loads more silver and grey pillows.

In terms of throws and bedcovers, once again, for me it really is the more the merrier, I don't believe in just having one throw, I always have at least two on top of each other. The White Company has some incredible ones and below are just some of the ones that i'd be choosing for my festive bedroom. I think the throws below would all really compliment each other if they were all just messily thrown into a pile on a bed, it would make the comfiest, nicest and most homely bed ever. I especially like the fur throws pictured below and think that especially for Christmas, they just add that hint of festivity.  The Luxury Faux Fur Throw is going to be at the top of my list, prices start from £30.00 which is good for something which is such high quality and so so beautiful.

The White Company - Cliveden Throw

The White Company - Princeton Throw

The White Company - Luxury Faux Fur Throw

The White Company - Plain Cashmere Throw

Last but certainly not least, I think when a bedroom is fully white, it can sometimes seem quite cold, that's why I'd always put a really fresh looking/coloured plant on my window sill or bedside table to add some vibrancy, freshness and warmth. The White Company has so many to choose from, most of which are artificial which means they stay beautiful all year round. I find a really fresh green plant in a white pot looks amazing in a crisp white bedroom. But to really give my bedroom a cosy wintery feel, I would definitely get some fairy lights and wrap them all around my bed. I am obsessed with fairy lights, i think they create such a romantic atmosphere, I need them in my life, they're so pretty and very understated, I think they can really give a bedroom a cosy and warm feel. Below are the additional accessories that I'd choose to brighten up my room from TheWhiteCompany:

The White Company - Indoor/Outdoor LED Fairy Lights

The White Company - Enamel Wear herb pots with tray

The White Company - Unscented Ceramic Heart Tea Lights

The White Company - Large Karlsson Alarm Clock

I really enjoyed entering this competition as interior design is something which I have always had a secret passion for. I absolutely love The White Company, if you get a second this Christmas, make sure you pop in and have a look at their window displays and bedding displays, you will want to buy it all. Everything is so, urm... white. Simplicity really is the key to success/beauty. The shop really does make you want to paint your whole house white. I love it.  I hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas.

Lots of love,

Em
