[003962] Andre, Michael. My Regrets. ill. Gregory Corso. Milwaukee, WI: Pentagram Press, 1976. 1st Edition. Broadside. Book. Very Good My Regrets is a folded broadside. It measures 11 x 17, printed on heavy paper, and is folded into quarters. It features 14 poems by Michael Andre, the editor of Unmuzzled Ox, along with a drawing of Andre by Gregory Corso that first appeared in Unmuzzled Ox. The various poems are short (16 lines or under), and one is about Anne Waldman. A bit sunned with some wear at the edges. Nice copy of this scarce item. $15.00

Very Good This short collection of Ave Jeanne’s poetry is twenty pages, stapled in card cover wrappers. It is the sixth in Implosion Press’ chapbook series. "These poems form an expansive meditation on Baca’s spiritual life, punctuated always with his feet–repeatedly,rhythmically–as he runs teh boulder-strewn trails along the banks of the Rio Grande each morning and contemplates his old life, his new love, his family and friends, those living and those dead, and where he prays to the Creator for teh humility to become ‘more the river than myself.’" This copy is signed by the author on the half-title page. [16-026] Burroughs, Laura Lee. Flower Arranging: A Fascinating Hobby. Athens, GA: The Coca-Cola Company, 1940. Soft cover. Book. Good William S. Burroughs wasn’t the only author in the family. His mother, Laura Lee, wrote several books on flower arranging for the Coca-Cola company. This is one of them. (In addition to other creative arrangements, each book includes a few arrangments with bottles of Coke.) This one is 52 pages, printed on glossy paper, with plenty of color illustrations. Corners are bumped, cover shows some wear and bent corners. $9.00

[677] Bye, Reed. Heart’s Bestiary. Boulder, CO: Rocky Ledge Cottage Editions, 1987. 2nd Edition. Soft cover. Book. Inscribed by Author(s). Very Good A fine collection of poems from Bye, who was on the faculty at the Jack Kerouac School of Disembodied Poetics at the Naropa Institute in Boulder, Colorado. Published in an edition of only 700 copies, of which 10 were hors commerce. This is one of the 690 regular copies, and has been inscribed by Bye on the title page. Interior is near fine; covers are a bit rubbed with tiny creases at corners. $12.00

This selection from her most recent manuscript (at the time this was published) was designed and printed by Don Gray in an edition of 250 copies for friends of the author and the press. Designed and printed by Graham Mackintosh & Noel Young, in an edition of 1000 copies, of which 250 were hardbound, and 750 were bound in wrappers, as this one is. Fifty pages. The glossy wrappers are soiled and rubbed, with a small pen mark on the front cover. They are a bit bent, with one very small tear, where they overlap the text. Interior is about fine. $12.00

It’s bound in bright blue cloth with silver lettering, 261 pages. The poets profiled are Charles Bukowski, Allen Ginsberg, John Wieners, William Everson, James Broughton, Gregory Corso, Philip Lamantia, Harold Norse, Bob Kaufman, and Lawrence Ferlinghetti. This is Felver’s collection of portraits of the poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti, taken over a span of twenty years. The photos show Ferlinghetti in places such as City Lights Bookstore, his Hunter’s Point painting studio, his famed Bixby Canyon cabin in Big Sur (which figures prominently in Kerouac’s "Big Sur"), Nicaragua, Bolinas, and a variety of other places. Some photos feature some of Ferlinghetti’s friends and fellow poets: Gary Snyder, Allen Ginsberg, Ted Joans, Nancy Peters, Michael McClure, John Cage, William Burroughs, David Gascoyne, Gregory Corso, Father Ernesto Cardenal, Andrei Voznesensky, as well as photos of LF and his family. The book wraps up with a chapter on the co-operative movement, internationalism and new directions in film. Includes a bibliography and index. As these poems expressed very explicity sexual themes, a firestorm of controversy was thus begun, and the dismissal of Mr. Williams was called for. Leo Kanowitz was a professor of law at the University of New Mexico and represented Lionel Williams in the case. Kanowitz has inscribed the book "To Bob: With fond memories of the good fight, Leo" and dated it 9/22/70. Book is very good, with a slight slant to the spine, the lightest of cover wear, and a stray pen mark to the edge.
