Two resorts in Indonesia have been voted among the top 10 hotels for families in Asia in the booking website TripAdvisor’s annual Travelers’ Choice Awards.
The Sanur Paradise Plaza Suites, in Bali, was ranked fifth on the 2016 list, which was topped by Singapore’s Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Resort & Spa and is based on user reviews collected over the past year.
In ninth place was the Trans Luxury Hotel in Bandung.
TripAdvisor’s chief marketing officer, Barbara Messing, said in a press release on Tuesday (01/03) that the award-winning hotels “make it easier for parents to find that perfect hotel for their next family trip.”
“Travelers can enjoy a host of family-friendly amenities and activities that will keep everyone entertained, and without breaking the bank as these properties are bookable for an average of $219 per night on TripAdvisor,” she added.
TripAdvisor rated the hotels based on the quantity and quality of reviews posted by users on its website over a 12-month period, with emphasis on reviews marked as a family stay.
The website described the Sanur Paradise Plaza Suites as providing “an unforgettable holiday experience with its top-notch facilities and gracious hospitality.”
“Children will be delighted to spend their time at the award-winning Camp Splash! Fun Park while the adult guests indulge in rejuvenating spa treatments,” it added.
“It is a wonderful family holiday destination, and the staff have become our friends,” one reviewer wrote. “It’s hard to beat for a restful, family holiday, and you will love the rooms.”
The Trans Luxury Hotel, meanwhile, won marks from reviewers for the adjoining Trans Studio Bandung theme park and mall.
“[T]his luxury property offers direct access to lifestyle and entertainment options, including a shopping mall and one of the biggest indoor theme parks in the world,” TripAdvisor wrote.
A reviewer called their stay there “such a memorable experience.”

Hotels in Bali dominated the list of top 10 family-friendly hotels in Indonesia, with the Trans resort and three properties in Bintan, in the Riau Islands off eastern Sumatra, preventing a clean sweep.
