45 Life School students compete; will turn into annual event

RED OAK – Life School, a leading North Texas charter school serving over 5,000 students, held its first annual Elementary Science Fair at its Red Oak campus on February 9th.

Forty-five students in grades 3-6 from five of Life School’s campuses competed, with awards going to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at each grade level.

Each student at these grade levels at Life School’s five campuses was able to present a science project of their choosing based on pre-defined criteria, while allowing them to use their own creativity to develop their individualized project as part of this hands-on learning experience.

“Our goal is to provide these students with an opportunity to develop a love for science during their elementary school years,” said Melissa Brown, Life School Elementary Science Coordinator.

This year’s first place winners were:  3rd Grade, Kaylynn Griffis (Life School Red Oak); 4th Grade, Camryn Malone (Life School Lancaster); 5th Grade, Kyle Givens (Life School Red Oak); and 6th grade Kellen Norris (Life School Cedar Hill).
