People generally have quite strong feelings about orange; you either love it or you hate it. In the home, it can be equally controversial. If you use it in the wrong dose or combination, it can be a catastrophe. That said, if you do it right, the effect is impressive. At DECO we favour tones of terracotta, combined with ballet pink, russet and tangerine.
If you’ve had your eye on the runways lately, you would have picked up quite a bit of tangerine, coral and rust colours. This warm palette is welcoming, comfortable and nurturing in the home. Yes, an overdose has the potential to turn your home into a shady set of a 70’s movie. But if you use these colours subtly, again in the right combinations, you are sure to give your home home a new energy.
Incorporate the terracotta palette into your living space with terracotta tiles, rust coloured carpets, curtains, painted furniture, upholstery and accessories.

If you’re feeling a little more daring, pair contrasting colours like Claude Monet in his depiction of ‘Sunrise’ with dark moody blues and hues of tangerine.
