Drumroll please… Meet my new coat! Ok, so you’ve probably already seen it plastered all over Instagram. And admittedly I’m more than a little late to the Shrimps party but this beauty is so pink and fluffy and fabulous I can’t help but rave about it. It’s also a level of cosiness that should probably be illegal. I mean it’s like some sort of wearable hug and who the hell wouldn’t want to wear a hug!? On the very rare occasion that one might be a teeny bit hungover this bad boy is seriously the mo-fo-ing dream. Fresh back from fashion month and in a state of exhaustion and bankruptcy, splurging on a new coat was absolutely the last thing I “should” have done. But obviously it was exactly what I did and I do not regret it one bit. It’s been unseasonably warm here in London this month meaning that if I wanted to wear my new pride and joy, I’d have to be prepared to get a bit sweaty which isn’t exactly very chic. So when I popped over to Geneva for a few days last week I was, for perhaps the first time in my life, ecstatic to see colder climes forecast and snuggle up in this coat without fearing that I might asphyxiate. Sticking with the pinky purpley theme – you all know how I love a good colour theme – I paired it with pale grey AG Jeans (cannot recommend this brand enough, they’re so comfortable you may as well be naked), my trusty leopard print Whistles sweater, vintage fur hat and another new AW14 acquisition, Penelope Chilvers’ adorable velvet ankle booties. Then I added a leopard print Cambridge Satchel Company bag because, well, why wear one leopard print item when you can wear two!? As you can see, I was so damn happy I risked life and limb to have a little groove on a wall.
