Would you let someone shoot you with a gun if you had on a bullet proof vest? Would you shoot a man as a joke who was wearing a bullet proof vest? That's apparently what happened in Fair Oaks over the weekend. Alcohol or drugs had to be a part of this in some way.
Might be time to get out of Fair Oaks LC. I thought these things didn't happen in a place like that.

Sacramento County Sheriff's detectives arrested Elija Ray Lambert, 21, for shooting and killing a man in Fair Oaks Friday night. Family of the victim tell News10 the victim died in a senseless way.
The victim, 19-year-old, Miguel Henry Martinez, was declared dead at the scene, near a bike trail in Bannister Park in the 3800 block of Bannister Road, said Sacramento County Sheriff's Sgt. Lisa Bowman.
Tom Cline told News10 his brother, Martinez, was fooling around with his friends near the trail. They were in possession of a gun and bullet proof vest, Cline says he doesn't know where they got those items.
Cline says Martinez' friends encouraged him to put on the vest, and reassured him he would not be hurt. According to Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies, Lambert fired the gun at Martinez. Cline says the bullet penetrated the top of the vest, and Martinez said he couldn't breathe.
According to Cline, a girl in the group ran for help, and two guys tried to carry Martinez up the bike path. At that time, patrol deputies arrived on scene. Martinez later died.
Lambert was booked into the county jail and charged with homicide without the possibility of bail.
