(Fracking On The Head Waters (The Exterminaton Of Humanity )

The impact on the environment caused by hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, is heavily contested as natural gas companies continue to drill deep into the Earth to mine for resources. Now, however, research conducted by the British Columbia Oil and Gas Commission suggests that there are some serious repercussions being caused, namely hundreds of earthquakes. RT's Meghan Lopez breaks down the facts behind fracking while Truthout's Mike Ludwig explains how science has linked the drilling to a ton of new tremors.(Fracking linked to hundreds of earthquakes)

JANUARY 17, 2013 BY: MIKAEL THALEN

Washington State recently made news after local farmers in association with the Washington State Farm Bureau adopted new policy blocking all aspects of U.N. Agenda 21.

United Nations Agenda 21 is based off of the The Commission on Global Governance's controversial 1995 report entitled "Our Global Neighborhood" that calls for more power to the United Nations in countries affairs, including the United States.

One of the most troubling aspects of this is the United Nations claim that it has the authority to change policy in the United States and even dictate what people can or can't do on their own private property under the supposed guise of environmentalism to the point of restricting massive amounts of land to American citizens.

Residents across the country and in Washington State are attempting to block Agenda 21 by stopping its policies that are often labeled under more friendly names such as "sustainable development", a term coined by the United Nations. Opponents of Agenda 21 point out that they agree on taking better care of the planet but it needs to be left out of the hands of foreign government's, especially when the proposed plans are far beyond anything rational.

Washington Republicans Matt Shea, David Taylor, and Jason Overstreet, a group known for their principled and consistent support of the constitution, sponsored 3 new bills that would halt any foreign encroachment on private property.

The first bill, HB 1164, would prohibit the use of international law to infringe on property rights within the state. Rep Jay Rodne, the primary sponsor of HB 1165, proposses prohibiting the state of Washington and it's political subdivisions from adopting and developing enviromental and developmental policies that would infringe or restrict private property rights without due process. The third bill, HB 1167, would repeal growth management planning requirments already on the books in Washington in chapter 36.70A RCW, a bill that "is the single largest attack on private property rights in Washington State over the last 23 years," says Rep David Taylor.

"We have seen an exceeding number of bills in the Legislature embracing and implementing actions derived from international laws, regulations and policies. The Growth Management Act is a prime example of the state implementing international policies related to 'sustainable development'. In addition, the state has purchase land in North Central Washington with the rational being the protection of important Canadian species. It is incumbent upon us to ensure we are upholding the Constitution and that taxpayer money is being properly spent. I encourage citizens to contact their Legislator and ask them to support House Bills 1164 and 1165," said Rep David Taylor.

People are encouraged to email and call Washington Representatives to ask them to sponsor these bills. A list of Reps and their contact info can be found here:

http://www.examiner.com/article/wa-state-reps-battle-un-agenda-21-with-n...() SHELL SHOCKED! Report by CHRIS EVERARD: Now, um, let me guess, I bet many of you think that NIGERIA is an African nation full of lazy back-stabbing bastards who are lawless criminals? Right? WRONG> Nigeria is actually an OIL RICH nation. It has more family farmers per square mile than the USA. Unfortunately, as we see elsewhere in Africa, very rich companies with Royal investors have been bludgeoning, torturing, kidnapping and murdering local people to get their thieving hands on CRUDE OIL which is sucked out the ground for free and sold for very, very high prices at gas stains in the USA and Europe.

ROYAL DUTCH SHELL - part of the Petro-Pollution Empire with investors from the British and Netherlands Royal families have murdered and killed, by way of Judicial Homocide, several Nigerian farmers who protested about the ecological mess and contamination of their land and water supplies. Most of Nigeria’s vast oil wealth comes from the Ogoni region, also known as Ogonilland. Companies like Shell, Chevron and ExxonMobil have made billions of dollars in oil revenue and have, in turn, enriched one Nigerian administration after another, yet the Ogoni people live in poverty. There are no roads, pipe-borne water or proper health care. Farm lands have been damaged by repeated oil spills; surface and ground water poisoned; aquatic life destroyed.

In 1995, Ken Saro-Wiwa was murdered by a kangaroo court set up by the Nigerian military. Since then, many Ogoni have fled the country to stay alive. Now they are refugees in Come (pronounced Ko-may), Benin. They have been languishing there for three years. These refugees are different. Shell-shockingly different. The Ogoni are corporate refugees.

BREAKING NEWS: Today, the BBC reported that a new legal case has been brought by Nigerian farmers. Going to court against the Royal Petro-giants is more than just a legal matter - it is literally putting your life on the line. This latest legal case is linked to CRUDE OIL spills in Goi, Ogoniland; Oruma in Bayelsa State and a third in Ikot Ada Udo, Akwa Ibom State.

The prosecution asked the judges to force Royal Dutch Shell to do three things: clean up the mess created by oil leaks in the three villages, repair and maintain the defective pipelines and pay compensation. But Shell has previously blamed "widespread and continual criminal activity, including sabotage, theft and illegal refining, that causes the vast majority of oil spills". It has said it does try to clean up regardless but is hampered by insecurity in the region. Well, that 'insecurity' would not be so bad if Shell had not purchased guns and distributed them to local people!

There is little doubt that the international oil companies in Nigeria not only sponsor military personnel in the Niger Delta, but they also use their immense resources to manipulate government officials. In 2010, secret cables from the US embassy in Abuja spoke of Shell’s “tight grip” on the nation. A report in August from oil industry watchdog, Platform, based on leaked Shell documents, reveals that nearly $383 million was doled out by Shell between 2007 and 2009 for protecting its interests in the Niger Delta. About $65 million of this sum funded 1,300 armed forces drawn from “the Nigerian military and the ‘kill and go’ police.

Solomon Mnaa, a cassava farmer in the Ogoni region of Nigeria’s oil-rich Niger Delta, says he was accosted near his farm by “a gang of soldiers” led by Lieutenant Colonel Paul Okuntimo, head of the regional Internal Security Task-force. “They stopped me, collected my machete and they cut me,” he said, slowly taking his shirt off to reveal the scars on his back. Tambari Anamakiri was also beaten and humiliated by Okuntimo’s thugs. “I was stripped naked in front of the whole village, beaten till I fainted, then kept in the prison at Kpor for one week and three days. They said I was a member of MOSOP (Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People). Okuntimo said he will shoot me at midnight,” he recalled.

Joseph Wogobe, a retired civil servant, had his mouth bashed with the butt of a gun during a security forces raid on the annual Ogoni day festival. “They dragged me down the coal-tarred road. Blood streamed down my body. Then they dumped me in their car booth and took me to Kpor. I was kept there without any care for 12 days. I was sure I would die,” he said.

Their stories mirror the testimonies of many others in the Ogoni region including the 12 Nigerian plaintiffs of the Kiobel vs Royal Dutch Shell case currently before the United States Supreme Court.

Shell is accused of abetting human rights violations and faces allegations of conspiring and financing military personnel to commit crimes during the 1990s, most notably the torture and execution of the “Ogoni Nine”—Barinem Kiobel, a former state government commissioner, Ken Saro-Wiwa and seven others were arrested in May 1994 by the military regime.

Instead of enjoying the riches of being land-owners in an oil-rich country, Ogoni people have fled the killers hired and sanctioned by oil companies. Instead of driving Bugatti Veyrons and doing all the kinds of things we see typical in the oil-rich lands of the Sheiks, the Nigerian citizens are living in refugee camps in Benin. They get a Food ration per person per month of (50 grams) of sugar, one kilogram of fish, four kilograms of gari and rice, one half kilogram of beans, one litre of oil, one spoonful of salt. Per MONTH.

Every month, more than a billion dollars of Nigerian Petrol is sold at pumps. The Royals have giant taxes on these European sales of Nigerian oil - about 80% of the $10 US dollars per gallon that a British worker pays goes straight into the pockets of Her Majesty's Treasury.

In an attempt to scare the public with a looming cyber attack on US infrastructure, US Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano is once again pushing Congress to pass legislation allowing the government to have greater control over the Internet.

Napolitano issued the warnings Thursday, claiming that inaction could result in a “cyber 9/11” attack that could knock out water, electricity and gas, causing destruction similar to that left behind by Hurricane Sandy.

Napolitano said that in order to prevent such an attack, Congress must pass legislation that gives the US government greater access to the Internet and cybersecurity information from the private sector. Such a bill, known as CISPA or Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, was already introduced last year, but failed to pass in Congress due to concerns expressed by businesses and privacy advocates.

“We shouldn’t wait until there is a 9/11 in the cyber world. There are things we can and should be doing right now that, if not prevent, would mitigate the extent of the damage,” Napolitano said in a speech at the Wilson Center, a Washington, DC think tank.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta has also been a strong advocate for increased governmental grip on the web and in October warned that the US is facing a possible “cyber-Pearl Harbor” by foreign hackers.

“A cyber attack perpetuated by nation states or violent extremist groups could be as destructive as the terrorist attack of 9/11,” he said during a speech. “Such a destructive cyber terrorist attack could paralyze the nation.”

Last September, Napolitano reiterated disappointment with Congress for failing to pass the cybersecurity legislation in August.

“Attacks are coming all the time,” she said in a speech at the Social Good Summit. “They are coming from different sources, they take different forms. But they are increasing in seriousness and sophistication.”

Despite Homeland Security’s constant warnings that hackers could shut down critical US infrastructure, the Cybersecurity Act of 2012 was shot down by the Senate in August, even though the Obama administration had pushed for the bill in numerous hearings and briefings.

Privacy advocates had expressed concern that the US government would be able to read Americans’ personal e-mails, online chat conversations, and other personal information that only private companies and servers might have access to. The head of the National Security Agency promised it wouldn’t abuse its power, but critics have remained skeptical.

A coalition of Democrats this year pledged to make this legislation a priority.

“Given all that relies on a safe and secure Internet, it is vital that we do what’s necessary to protect ourselves from hackers, cyber thieves, and terrorists,” said Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), the new chairman of the Homeland Security Committee.

The White House is also working on an executive order that would encourage companies to meet government cybersecurity standards.
