ACCIONA is the first fully electric car to enter Dakar Rally

ACCIONA is the first team to enter a fully electric car in the prestigious Dakar Rally. Starting 4th of January in Buenos Aires, pilots Albert Bosch and Agustín Payá will push the boundaries of their battery electric vehicle in order to complete a distance of over 9,000 kilometres.

Formula E battery guru on development and gives outlook

Williams Advanced Engineering is currently the sole battery supplier in Formula E. With a heritage in Formula 1 and the development of cutting edge batteries, the British manufacturer was given the task to design, develop and manufacture batteries in record time to power the vehicles in world’s first championship with electric single seat racing cars.

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb almost saw an EV winning

A pair of Mitsubishi’s MiEV Evolution III all-electric prototype racecars placed first and second within the Electric Modified division in the 92st running of the famous Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on Sunday. Six-time PPIHC motorcycle champion Greg Tracy finished ahead of his teammate and two-time Dakar Rally winner Hiroshi Masuoka. Last year’s winner Nobuhiro Tajima ranked third after a troubled race.

ETH Zürich wins Formula Student Electric, beating ICE

Students of ETH Zürich have won the German Formula Student Electric competition at the Hockenheim circuit. Praised by its design and speed, the AMZ Racing Team ranked first after a range of static and dynamic disciplines. The German Stuttgart University finished second and three-time winner Delft University of Technology from the Netherlands became third.

New record: electric race car 0-100 km/h in 1.785 seconds

Students from ETH Zürich and Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts have achieved the impossible. Their own designed and built electric racing car accelerated from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in just 1.785 seconds and under 30 metres. There are no Formula 1 cars or electric super cars meeting this performance.
