Klaxons have spoken out about their forthcoming third album, calling it “classy and euphoric”.
Talking to NME, bassist Jamie Reynolds said “It covers leftfield electronica and pop. It’s where we always said we were gonna place ourselves – it just took us a while to learn how to get there.”
The album will be the follow-up to Surfing The Void, which the band released back in 2010. It is said to feature the production talents of James Murphy, James Ford and Tom Rowlands of the Chemical Brothers.
Klaxons returned to the UK festival scene back in May at Brighton’s The Great Escape, before that the band had only played a handful of shows since the 2011 Relentless Boardmasters festival in Newquay. The 11 song set they played began with ‘Atlantis To Interzone’ and included the ever-popular ‘Gravity’s Rainbow’ and ‘Golden Skans’.
Music isn’t the only thing the band members have been up to since then. Reynold’s also produced a documentary about Adam Ant, which was released last September. Talking to The Daily Star back in 2011, Reynolds said: “The Adam Ant project is my first step into the film business. I’ve got no experience of making films but I really wanted to get involved in it and I may do more.”
