A Honest Review of ASM
In this post I will be talking about the Amazing Selling Machines Amazon Private label Course and giving an “A Honest Review of ASM”.
First and foremost I need you to know that I am an affiliate marketer, that sells Retail Arbitrage on Amazon. You are already probably getting emails and notifications that the course is reopening. I am going to tell you why you should not part with $3,500 – $4,000 to take ASM in the 4th quarter of the 2014 selling season, so bear with me and read this whole post or watch the hangout video that will be embedded at the end of the post.
If you have never sold on Amazon before we need to discuss several things. First and foremost ASM is going to be presented and broken down in a way that makes it seem easy peasy. There is no easy button for Private Labeling on Amazon, if it was easy every experienced FBA seller would be doing it.
Secondly, we are officially in the 4th quarter selling season and for FBA sellers like my self this is the time to make bank, not the time to get lessons drip fed to you on private labeling once a week.
The amount of money the course costs should have you running for the hills. I don’t celebrate the holidays, so I can only imagine what the cost of buying gifts for your loved ones can add up to. So not only does the creators of ASM want you to take a gamble on them but they want you to do it during the time of year that most people are going in to debt for the holidays for their families.
Now I said this was going to be an honest review of ASM, so the truth is there are people who have paid for the course and are killing it with Private Labeling. So yes you can succeed.
The course is structured in a way that you learn how to research products, contact suppliers, order products, have your labels created for said product so it is private labeled. They do teach you how to private label products on Amazon.
New To Selling On Amazon
But if you have never sold on Amazon there are some things you need to know:
This is a real business, which means it is governed by the rules of a real business that resides in the state or country you live in. Translation:
You will need a business license
Resale certificate
Liability insurance – This is in Amazons Terms of Service
Capital – If you choose to give ASM $3,500-4,000 you still will need additional capital to purchase the product you are going to private label
Let’s not forget getting approval in Amazon’s newly gated categories – DVD’s, Health and Personal, Beauty, and Grocery (a lot of examples you will see demonstrated for ASM will be in Health and Personal – Garcinea Cambogia, Best Vitamin C Serum)
Last but least who is going to teach you Amazon’s rules? Yes Amazon has rules for their sellers. Amazon is very protective of their customers! Not to mention if Amazon decides to close your seller account because you did not follow the rules, your private label dreams and $3500 investment will go up in smoke.
Look I know why ASM sounds appealing to you. Let me give you some reasons:
You want to work from home and leave the corporate world behind
You want to get out of debt
You want to travel and enjoy life on your terms
You want to spend more time with your family
You want to help others in need
You have dreams and you hear people are killing it on Amazon
Stop buying into other peoples dreams and buy into your own! You don’t want to buy into a $4,000 course only to find that all the promises of an easy button prove false it is hard work. Answer this honestly, how will you feel when you take $3500 – 4,000 from your family funds and then don’t succeed? Can you afford that type of risk? Will you add extra stress to yourself during the 4th quarter which is usually a stressful time making sure your family has the best holiday ever? Yes it can be done, but will you be one of those who succeed and recoup your investment?
Remember you have to find a supplier for your product. You will have to find a product that has an amazing rank in a category you can sell in, or you will have to get approved in the gated category if that is where your product is. Being a brand new seller with no track record with Amazon, let me know how that goes for you, getting approved in a gated category.
Then you have to find a supplier and I am sure you will want a US supplier, why don’t you go do a Google Search right now for a US private label supplier. Matter of fact I highly recommend you watch all the free training that Amazing Selling Machine gives while it is in re-launch. So you can put it into practice they truly tell you everything you need to know to find products to private label in their free videos that lead up to the launch.
Did you find a US private label supplier? Or did you find all the products you think would be great to private label on Amazon you need to source from China (check into the cost of shipping from china and customs). Look out for the curve ball it is coming straight for your head. Have fun finding liability insurance for products sourced out of the United States, you do want to be in compliance with Amazon’s guidelines right? Don’t get caught with your hand in the cookie jar and then beg Amazon for forgiveness after.
If you found a supplier are they asking you for a re-seller certificate, your liability insurance? Did you calculate the cost for ordering samples to make sure the product is of high quality? Are they willing to print your private label for your product and attach it to the product? Did you buy your UPC codes?
Now let’s say you get your product to Amazon, now the work really begins because you need it to sell and get ranked. You are now competing with all the other sellers who have the same private labeled product you have. Did you create an amazing Product Listing? How does your products pictures look? Do they meet Amazon’s guidelines?
Yeah, you won’t be sharing the buy box with anyone, but if no one is buying your private label product will that really matter?
I am not trying to rain on your parade or be a negative nilly, you need all the facts. I want to show you another way. Just like a baby you need to learn how to crawl before you walk, and walk before you run with Amazon.
Should You Be Selling On Amazon
You better believe you should be selling on Amazon! Here are just a couple of reasons why:
You need very little capital to start selling on Amazon. Especially now since it is the holiday selling season and the amount of profit you can make is crazy pants! Just today I sold a Littlest Pet Shop toy I purchased for $4.99 at Toys R Us for $29.95 profiting $16.99. That is just the beginning once the hunt for the holiday toys little Cindy or little Jimmy want’s hits, the profit will come to mamma!
You can start making money Fast! Imagine if you took the $3500 – 4000 you where going to invest in ASM and doubled or trippled it during this holiday season. ASM will reopen again like clock work in the spring trust me, it is to much of a cash cow to not. Not to mention there are other private labeling courses out there.
Amazon handles all of the customer service so you don’t have to, they don’t want you contacting their customers. Or trying to take their customers off of Amazon to get the FREE PDF you are offering on your private label listing that lives on Amazon so you can get the customers email address so you can market to them other products that do not live on Amazon.
You do not need to private label your own products to sell on Amazon. Baby steps remember, you can start out with retail arbitrage, there are literally millions of products available on Amazon right now, many of them, you can sell. There are products in your area and online that you can buy at a low cost and turn around and sell on Amazon for a profit, just like the example I shared above. Clearance aisles, liquidation stores, thrift stores, and many retail locations all have discounted products that sell for a higher price on Amazon.
Walk later once you have mastered retail arbitrage you can jump in to wholesale, and more. There is always more then one way to skin a cat! Look there has never been a better time to start your own business selling on Amazon than now. Even though it is the beginning of the amazing 4th quarter selling season you can still reach your goals. Selling on Amazon FBA has made it easy and affordable to start a profitable business right under your own roof, I am doing it.
All I am saying is you don’t need to go into debt to get a slice of the Amazon pie. If you are someone who has been looking for a business that you can run from the comfort of your own home, selling on Amazon FBA may be just what you are looking for!

Ok, so you are probably wondering if I have an alternative course for you? Once you have proven to Amazon you are a team player and take the steps they require for you to get approval in these gated categories, you will be golden. I said this already but it bears repeating: “Do Not Buy Into Someone Else’s Dream, Buy Into Your Own!” Not to mention that you won’t go to your friends or family to beg, borrow, or steal their nest eggs for you to sign up for ASM.
Now if I didn’t talk you off the fence, and you still buy ASM then your best bet is to go with Jason Fladlien and Wilson Mattos of Rapid Crush and get their bonuses for ASM. They have a private group in Facebook called ASM Masters. The last time ASM was released people who had already purchased ASM re-purchased ASM through their affiliate link just to get into their group and access the bonuses they offer.
