**Assistant Manager of Strategy & Planning**

**_Assistant Manager of Strategy and Planning_**

The Assistant Manager of Strategy and Planning supports Online Strategy and the overall processes and operations of the growing global ELC Online Digital Operations department. This role reports to the Executive Director of Online Strategy & Planning and primarily conducts research, produces presentations and coordinates team operations, while owning and assisting in special projects as needed across the Digital Operations group.

**_Responsibilities_**

**50% of time: Assist and lead in key areas of developing and cascading ELC Online Strategy**

* Serve as Project Manager for the annual Online Strategy process and rollout:
* Project manage the development of the presentation and production of the physical book, including logistics and distribution to the ELT in January.
* Align key stakeholders (e.g. OLT members, Online Finance and Brand E-Commerce teams) on themes, content and deliverables. Coordinate internal teams to create sub-storylines and integrate their content and assets into overall presentation with unified voice and format. Ensure incoming content is timely and aligned.
* Own specific sections of content in the deck (e.g. trends and progress vs. strategy) and assist with building overall storyline.
* Lead trends brainstorm sessions across ELC Online departments and author trends section.
* Conduct research (internal and external resources) to develop and update industry POV.
* Assist and manage logistics of the strategy cascade to ELC Online departments, Global Brands and Regional / Affiliate teams, augmenting content and goals as needed.
* Create presentations and documents as needed to support ELC Online leadership (e.g. Board of Directors and Business Development meetings, etc.). Assist VP and ED of Strategy to develop storyline with key stakeholders (e.g. ELC Online President). Develop knowledge to leverage bank of extensive existing material and begin developing skills to own this area of expertise.
* Support ELC Corporate Strategy and Task Force initiatives as needed to ensure ELC Online alignment and representation (e.g. research, providing content from Online presentations, etc.)
* Conduct continuous research throughout the year to evolve our Strategy and Online POV.

**35% of time: Digital Operations Planning**

* Assist in Planning for the Digital Operations Department, including strategic alignment of projects, engagement request process and other organizational functions / processes as needed.
* Lead planning of quarterly new hire orientation, including updating presentation, managing the logistics and securing ELC Online Leadership as guest speakers.
* Contribute to / lead on key divisional projects (e.g. ELC Online Video, Speaker Series).
* Provide planning and logistics for special events (e.g. Digital Operations Team Meeting, Global Summit, E-Commerce day, etc.) including managing the agenda, assisting in the development of the master presentation, facilitating meeting arrangements, etc.

**15% of time: Special Projects**

* Assist in special projects and presentations for Digital Operations Leadership as needed.

## Primary Location

**Requirements**:

* Bachelors degree or higher. 4+ years of work experience, management consulting and investment banking a plus.
* Ability to structure documents (e.g. powerpoint presentations and memos) to effectively communicate with senior management. Extensive knowledge of MS Powerpoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
* Experience with strategic research and project management, particularly within the Online space.
* Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with ability to synthesize complex data and disparate information into meaningful and actionable conclusions.
* Strong written / oral / presentation-based communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Excellent organization and record keeping. Attention to detail and the ability to manage time.

* Mature professional confidence and ability to communicate / work closely with senior executives (e.g. ELC Online President and Online Leadership Team).
* Collaborative, ability to multi-task and shift between diverse simultaneous projects and teams in a fast-paced project-based environment with closely intertwined-team.
* Strong ability to work independently and manage own work stream. Appetite and aptitude for learning.
* Foundational understanding of – and passion for – internet technology and the luxury beauty industry.
