Position: Temporary Finance Manager, Estee Lauder North America Finance

**_PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE:_**

**Responsible for the planning, reporting and analyzing of Estee Lauder Field Selling & Education expenses, General & Administrative expenses and Capital and amortization commitments. Key partner to the National Sales Manager, Regional Vice Presidents, Field Sales teams, and NA Education team in expense management and scenario planning. High level of exposure to strategic planning and resource allocation decisions related to geographic and key account / retailer investment choices.**

**_RESPONSIBILITIES:_**

**FIELD SELLING, EDUCATION and GENERAL & ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSE MANAGEMENT**:

* Responsible for the monthly accounting close for Selling, Education, Special Events and G&A; expenses, including voucher activity analysis, accruals and re-classes. Analyze and report spending variances to Field and New York management teams and partner with business owners to keep spending on plan.
* Responsible for all strategic and annual planning activities related to Selling, Education, Special Events and G&A; spend. Includes preparation and analysis of all related budgeting schedules and planning templates. Interface with business owners and stakeholders throughout the budget and strategy cycles to ensure investment decisions are sound and plans are realistic and achievable.
* Responsible for monthly financial estimate related to Selling, Education, Special Events and G&A; spend. Partner with business owners on scenario planning and investment decisions.
* Serve as point of contact for Field and New York team member issues / questions, supporting team as needed in monitoring expenses and adhering to corporate policies and procedures. Partner with ED Finance and National Sales Manager when corrective measures are warranted due to over-spends or policy violations.
* Maintain database of all In Store Collateral retailer chargebacks, tracking Regional management approval and processing status. Prepare retailer chargeback reporting and analyses, partnering closely with business owners to validate expenses and ensure retailer chargebacks are processed timely.
* Coordinate with the Field and Demonstration Management teams on Associate Beauty Advisor expenses, including budget, estimate and actual reporting. Partner as needed in consolidating Demonstration Expense estimate prepared by Demonstration Management group.
* Responsible for door P&L; coordination and data verification efforts related to spending areas defined above. Support P&L; collection process and supply P&Ls; / profitability analyses to Field teams as needed.

**CAPITAL:**

* Responsible for developing the annual capital budget, collaborating with brand management teams, Corporate Store Planning, and Fixed Assets AAC on plan submissions.
* Maintain current and long range counter project lists for the Brand, reporting capital cost estimates, counter construction expenses, and related amortization estimates. Partner with brand stakeholders to ensure integrity of plans and alignment with financial commitments. Serve as the main contact for all capital reporting and activity, including estimate submissions, reporting and variance explanations, AR requisitions, capital payments and physical inventory.
* Work closely with FAAC to ensure capital projects are in line with Global policies and capitalized, disposed, or transferred appropriately and timely.

**OTHER:**

* Address GERS Expense Report issues, Corporate Meeting Card reconciliations, and expense policy questions for Field and New York office team members, partnering with Corporate Sales Administration and other groups as needed. Monitor expenditures for compliance with corporate policies and reeducate and address violations as needed.
* Serve as SRM Power User for brand, assisting new users and resolving issues as needed. Review and route new vendor requests.
* Track North America headcount / capability reporting.
* Participate in special projects as needed.

## Primary Location

* College degree in accounting or finance preferred. MBA, CPA a plus.
* 5+ years business experience in finance / accounting including closing, reporting, and analysis, preferably in consumer goods industry.
* Strong advanced Excel skills required, with SAP, CPM / Hyperion, Data Warehouse experience preferred.
* Proven problem-solving capabilities and process enhancement skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and leverage relationships with all levels of New York office, Field management and Corporate teams. Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial managers.
