POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary role of the Project Manager of Visual Merchandising and Store Design is to ensure that the image of each one of the Estee Lauder Companies Brands is maintained at a consistent level of excellence in all retail environments throughout CECA region (Colombia, Ecuador and Central America)

This individual will be responsible for the management of store planning and development projects for corporate freestanding retail stores and retail partner counters. This responsibility includes proper execution and implementation for each Brand’s image in new stores/counters, remodels and retrofits including the creation of comprehensive bid documents. Oversight and follow up for all construction related costs to ensure they meet approved capital requirements from negotiations and proper communication of all project related issues including store-opening schedules, distributor’s collaboration and contractual requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Provide right-hand” support to the Executive Director Regional CECA as the liaison between the different Estee Lauder Companies brands and the Distributors.
· In conjunction with Executive Director Regional CECA and Executive Director Regional SDVM Latin America, ensure that a consistent look and feel is carried out at counter level and that the overall image of each brand continues to evolve, ensuring a strong presence of our brands
· Provide guidance to CECA Distributors on all aspects of Store Design and Visual Merchandising
· Work with the CECA Distributors to identify regional Store Design and Visual Merchandising needs, provide feedback and recommendations.
· Facilitate and supervise the correct execution of Store Design and Visual Merchandising directives set by the brands in New York
· Oversee the complete design and construction process of all new doors and renovations of existing ones within the region.
· Responsible for managing the construction budgets (CAPEX) and inform the CECA Finance Team on the calendarization of expenses.
· Provide support to the Executive Director Regional CECA and Distributors in the space selection for new doors and relocation of existing ones.
· Track projects and coordinate with CECA team/Distributors/ Retailers/Vendors to keep them moving forward, on budget and on time
· Comprehensive oversight of assigned project’s daily activities as it relates to the following key areas:
· Responsible for coordinating with Distributor / Retailer / Landlord to obtain all the information required to initiate the design process, including vendor package, survey plans, design criteria, traffic diagrams, etc.
· Responsible for coordinating production of accurate surveys of the allocated spaces whenever necessary
· Ensure that landlord/retailer criteria and construction portions of the lease have been reviewed and comments have been communicated the necessary business partners
· Prepare preliminary cost estimates and construction schedules.
· Submit all required information for the brands in NY to initiate the design process
· Responsible to review the initial designs issued by NY with the CECA team (Sales & Marketing) to ensure their full understanding of the design intent
· Ensure the designs are submitted to the Distributor/Retailer for their approval on a timely basis.
· Follow up on necessary approvals, permits and documents to insure a professional and smooth running project
· Coordinate timely production of clear and comprehensive bid documents through approved consultants
· Contact the required vendors and lead the bidding / award process
· Support the Marketing team to ensure the proper ordering of VM elements, collateral material and other Estee Lauder Companies supplied items and coordinate/track the delivery to job site.
· Monitor production of fixtures / millwork to ensure its execution meets brand/corporate quality requirements and to assure the engineered integrity of products manufactured.
· Coordinate with Distributor / Retailer / Vendors to prepare the designated space and ensure it is ready for the installation of fixtures
· Monitor fixture installation and project completion.
· Generate punch lists and follow up with vendors to ensure all outstanding items are addressed.
· Ensure during the construction phase that the project maintains Estee Lauder Companies best interests and best management of its assets.
· Ensure that Estee Lauder Companies are receiving quality, service and fair pricing.
· Continually seek to streamline the execution of Store Design and Visual Merchandising processes within regional context to ensure all markets are working with the same information
· Provide support to marketing teams / Distributors in the production and installation of visual and graphic elements for all CECA doors
· Monitor quality standards during the execution of Store Design and Visual Merchandising processes
· Help distributors to understand technical aspects of Store Design and Visual Merchandising (i.e. reading drawings and planograms, explaining architectural terminology)
· Coordinate with Distributors to assure proper project management for new doors and renovations of existing stores.
· Oversee / coordinate with Distributors the implementation of repair / maintenance routines for new and existing doors
· Communicate regularly and maintain positive working relationships with Retail Managers, Sales Managers and people in the field.
· Establish and maintain database of existing and new doors
· Create and update database of approved shop fitters and vendors for the region

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s degree preferably in Architecture, Industrial Design or similar
* Minimum 5 years of experience in visual merchandising, industrial design, interior design, architecture, store planning/design, graphic design, or related field Experience from local market is a plus.
* Fully Bilingual read, write and speak English and Spanish.
* Willing to travel up to 50% of the time
* Experience in working with multiple discipline projects and project management.
* Proficient with AutoCAD, Adobe Suite & Microsoft Office.
* Strong design background with ability to follow graphic standards.
* Basic understanding of retail business.
* Ability to render and communicate ideas, flexibility of vision, responsiveness to creative input and great visual sensibilities.
* Independent worker and decision maker.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Superior organizational skills to handle the details of many projects simultaneously with ability to juggle many pressing priorities with ease in a fast paced environment.
