POSITION SUMMARY:

Working in conjunction with the Executive Director, Global New Media, Assistant Managers for Community Engagement, regional marketing teams, this individual will be responsible for social and digital media and marketing strategy and implementation for International markets. In partnership with Creative and Global Communications, the Director, New Media, International will leverage M·A·C’s creativity, artistry and product innovation to adapt global and build local programs that bring high-touch customer experiences that drive brand advocacy, loyalty, and community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Work closely with regional teams to understand individual market needs in order to develop and execute locally relevant content (or localize key global content) for the International markets.
* Anticipate Global Social Media landscape and recommend where MAC should have presence
- Evaluate regional and local trends and opportunities
- Continuously update research in rapidly changing environment
- Expand mobile activities
- Evaluate regional agencies and media partners
* Collaborate with Internal teams (Global Marketing, Product Marketing, Creative, Artist Relations, Online, Global Communications, Consumer Insights) on the development of programs
* Look for ways to efficiently extend Global programs to select International Markets, while ensuring they are locally relevant
* Manage guidelines, processes and styleguides to international affiliates to help local teams maintain brand DNA
* Present local/regional ideas to the global Creative team for review and approval, and work with regional team to execute approved ideas and concepts
* Lead weekly meetings with regional team members to share information, track projects, deliver feedback, respond to issues or concerns, and develop ideas
* Turn research and insight into market needs, from emerging technologies and platforms to local customs and activities; Develop strong strategic programming from insights
* Ensure metrics and analytics are delivered on a timely basis for inclusion in reports to MAC leadership
* Develop competitive analysis for digital marketing and social media landscape in the region and individual markets
* Manage and lead a team of three NY-based managers/assistant managers and provide leadership, direction, and support
* Develop strong working relationships with internationally-based regional marketing teams for Asia, Latin America, UK, Travel Retail and Europe/Africa/Middle East.

Qualifications:

* College/University degree required
* Minimum 8 years related experience
* Proven digital experience launching and growing social networking platforms across online and mobile
* Experience integrating e-Commerce, m-Commerce, and mobile Apps
* Interest in and/or understanding of local markets
* Fluency in at least one language other than English preferred
* Excellent analytical and writing skills
* Proven management and leadership skills
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment with strong creative and brand focus
* Strong Interpersonal, Organizational, Communication and Analytical skills
* Astute Business judgment
* Understanding of and respect for cultural differences
* Some travel may be required
* International marketing experience preferred
