POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is directly responsible for supporting China product registrations. The position requires an individual who is highly movitated, can work independently and interface cross-functionally to ensure the accurate and timely registration of products in the China market. Candidate will pro-actively work to ensure the registraton dossier's conformance to China's content and format requirements to assure market approvals to meet OCDs; orchestrate the registration process and keep key stakeholders (PD, GBSC, Marketing, & R&D) aware of the ongoing registrations and approvals by utilizing Brand Registration Tracking sheets; support the organization's SAP initiative by assisting in the maintainance of China's PRLS database for shipping only registered product into the market. This position must effectively execute these functions independently based on judgment and work experience with consideration of the business strategy for the China market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Generate product registration formulas following the specific China format required for registrations of all products intended for launch. Verify formula acceptability including ingredient nomenclature based on specific documentation. This requires in-depth research to obtain supporting technical documents to meet China product registration requirements. Thoroughly analyze the information and use judgment to develop the best approach based on the appropriateness of the information taking into consideration of the regulatory environment in China and the business needs.

Evaluate data needs for all projects regarding Claims and Medical testing done to support product registrations. Liaise with Safety & Claims Departments to obtain the necessary reports. Assure that all testing data conforms to market specific requirements. On a pro-active basis, provide direction to R&D on specific testing and document needs, when required. Diligently manage the process to ensure deadlines are met. Anticipate set backs and help identify, and recommend workable solutions when experiencing delays in order to bring the project back on track. Develop and implement new approaches to meet China's registration demands/requirements after review by supervisor.

Effectively build on and maintain the Product Registration database and Tracking Sheets to assure up-to-date information on registration activites via Sharepoint. Inputs and maintains data identifying formulas supplied to the China affiliate.

Reviews issues and inquiries of moderate complexity. Use independent judgment to problem solve, analyze, and deliver feedback on complex regulatory concerns. Notifies management on critical issues and/or regulatory registration changes and makes actionable recommendations to meet changes.

Utilize expertise to counsel R&D regarding China regulatory requirements through emails and telephone calls.

Assists in maintaining China's PRLS database (SAB web-based) regarding registration information for shippable SKUs.

Collaborate with IS department to generate raw material reports necessary for generating Risk Assessments.

Participates in trade associations (PCPC) China Task Force conference calls to enhance and expand knowledge of China's regulatory environment and learn about potential changes to cosmetic regulations.

Stays abreast of developments in the Regulatory environment through on-going communication and dialogue with the China affiliate. Monitor and anticipate industry changes and opportunities. Notify and make effective recommendations to management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree
Minimum 2 years related experience
Chinese language proficiency preferred.
Prior product registration experience in cosmetics or related industry, especially working knowledge of the China registration requirements preferred. Must be detailed oriented; very well organized; works independently with minimal guidance; strong analytical skill set; ability to analyse information and make recommendations to effect change, when needed; proficient computer skills in MS Office 2007, Excel and experience with RDS and PDS databases; must be able to work under time constraints to meet deadlines; demonstrates ability to embrace and effectively adapt to change
