Senior Project Manager, Global Information Services, Asia Pacific

As part of the Global Information Services, APAC, the incumbent will work closely with the Director, Project Management, Global Information Services (GIS), Asia Pacific, and with respective regional counterpart, act as a proactive force in the re-launching of the existing Project Planning and Strategy Office into a newly created, service-oriented, full-function regional Project Management Office. Establish a governance framework and implement revised project processes, templates, and tools as required and aimed at streamlining and simplifying the job of project managers throughout the organization – not only regionally, but globally as well.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
(1) Day-to-Day Project Execution Management
- Work closely with the regional project managers to ensure they have all the tools necessary to deliver their projects on time and on budget. Assist in stakeholder management – especially when projects become troubled.
- Enforce the use of risks and issues management techniques early on in project planning and continuing through project execution. Help project managers see problems before they become large ones.
- Review project deliverables as necessary and make recommendations for improvement.
(2) Strategic Operations and Deployment
Deliver our GIS project management strategy with focus on flawless execution, effective communication, change management, simplification and partnership by:
- Providing a window to the APAC Business into our GIS 5-Year Vision and how it will provide the foundation for innovative, flawlessly executed, value-add technology and best practice solutions.
- Aligning APAC GIS capabilities and projects around key corporate strategies and initiatives (Retail, SMI, HR Transformation, Supply Chain 1.0, R&D and more)
- Developing an APAC Project Management Office that creates a methodology and approach to flexible project management and delivering investments that are high impact and aligned to corporate strategy.
- Delivering expectations related to both the operating expense and capital budgets.
(3) Collaboration and Talent Development
- Equip our regional GIS project managers with the tools and training to drive high performance by focusing on leadership, communication and innovation capabilities.
- Continue to improve our effective communications capabilities by delivering a communications and stakeholder strategy that strengthens partnerships and delivers value.
- 100% compliance to PDP/Talent Review/Development Plans with focus on talent gaps and succession planning.
- Renew our focus on technology skills and leadership development through participation in technology thought leadership programs, Wharton and more.
- Design and deliver new ways to perpetuate innovation in our thinking and solution delivery.
(4) Key Business Capability Building/Business Transformation
- Business Transformation Implementation or Value Realization, as applicable (SMI Group 4 and Travel Retail, HR Transformation, SIOP, China, Emerging Markets, etc.)
- Partner with Supply Chain to deliver Supply Chain 1.0 initiatives (processes around new product introductions and end-to-end integrated value chain by category.)
- Design and implement the Center of Excellence within GIS that will deploy and support SAP and Non-SAP solutions post SMI.
- Flawlessly deliver other defined GIS and Non-GIS capital projects for FY14 including the Retail Operating System (ROS) and other innovations for our Brands at retail.
- Define the Business Intelligence strategy including a roadmap for Master Data Management, Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, etc.
- Deliver the Infrastructure Modernization Initiatives (IMI).
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES:
Education and Experience:
- University Degree preferably in Information Technology (with specialism on business transformation)
- Certification in project management preferred, but not required; experience is much more important
- Minimum 10 years working experience, with minimum 3 years at managerial level
- Working experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the FMCG or cosmetic industry or with regional exposure
- Proven work experience in establishing and enforcing governance frameworks
- Knowledge of project management techniques and tools
- Direct work experience in project management capacity

- Proficient in project management software

This position reports to the Director, Project Management, Global Information Services, Asia Pacific. This role is based in Hong Kong and involves less than 10% international travel. Please note that this role is offered on local terms and conditions, therefore there is no relocation or work permit assistance available.
