Schaumburg Parent University – September Classes
Schaumburg Parent University (SPU) is designed to involve more parents in the life of the school, to strengthen family relationships, and to improve parenting skills that will ultimately result in improved student success academically, socially and emotionally. There are two evening programs scheduled for September.
Family Literacy Night. Join the District 54 Literacy Team and the Schaumburg Township District Library for fun reading and writing activities. Parents will also learn strategies they can use at home to reinforce literacy skills. This program is for children in early childhood through second grade and their parents from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 at the District 54 Professional Learning Center, 522 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg.
Youth Suicide: A Community Conversation about Awareness and Prevention. The chairs of the District 54 Crisis Team will explore the warning signs, risk factors and steps individuals can take to prevent youth suicide in our community. This class for adults only will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 at the District 54 Professional Learning Center, 522 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg.
