The 28th match of this season was played between North-East United FC vs Delhi Dynamos FC and after an exhaustive entertaining battle it was finished with 1-1 draw at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.

And it was possible with the help of a brilliant free-kick by super-sub Simao gave a point to North-East. Where on the other hand Richard Gadze put a point in the Lions head in the first period.

The match was strted with Sanju Pradhan’s effort to a goal from Delhi unfortunately which was not a successful goal and his effort was failed but after a minute Delhi were also back foot again in the match and this time it was a combination of winger Seityasen Singh and striker Francis Dadzie that troubled Delhi. But the Ghanaian failed to keep his header down on target after a superb cross from Seityasen.

In the 22nd minute the hosts had their first shot on target due to Gadze. Gadze made a brilliant run from the half-way line which helps to made a goal easily into the visitor’s box.


Delhi’s goalkeeper Doblas was into action twice with a good form and in quick succession, saved with a Pradhan shot initially before parrying away a Dadzie shot from close range on the rebound.

NorthEast United FC started the second half in the same vein they began the first – on the front foot. In the 58th minute they hit the crossbar when a Silas free-kick clipped the Delhi woodwork. But in 72nd minute the Highlanders were finally got their attacking endeavour. North-East got a chance to a free-kick just from outside Delhi’s penalty box. Head coach Cesar Farias seized the moment by introducing marquee player Simao Sabrosa into the game and Sabrosa calmly stepped up and curled the ball into the net for Hero ISL 2015’s first goal from a free-kick, with what was his first touch of the ball in the match.


The hosts started falling deeper and deeper into their own half giving stiff resistance to continuous waves of NorthEast attacks. And the Dynamos managed to hold firm and the game ended with draw at 1-1. With this Delhi remain on the second place in the table while North-East are two points ahead of Kerala Blasters FC.
