Alcohol is an accepted part of adult life in most Western countries. We see billboards for hard alcohol driving to work, laughing college students enjoying a beer on TV, and alcohol is served at almost every establishment we have dinner in. Most people are able to have a few drinks on the weekend without having a problem, and can take it or leave it. Others may drink a little too much, but it doesn’t interfere with their everyday lives. Lastly, some people have a problem with their drinking, and it starts causing problems in most areas of their lives. Understanding and accepting that we may have a problem with alcohol or drugs can be a difficult bridge to cross, but is integral in getting better. In most cases, entering into a California drug rehab is the first step towards a life free of addiction, and living a happy, productive life.

Do I Have A Problem With Alcohol or Drugs?

If you’re concerned that either you or a loved one may have a problem with your drinking or drug use, then a California Drug rehab center may be appropriate for you. Hearing this may be shocking or even offensive to some people, but we would encourage you to take an honest look at your drinking before making a decision. We encourage you to ask yourself the following questions:

Has anyone ever commented on your drinking? If friends or family have made comments that you either drink too much, drink too often, or are having problems as a result of your drinking, then there may be a problem.

Is your work or school affected? Most people that have a problem with their drinking have missed work or school as a result. Drinking the night before and waking up with a hangover makes it difficult to perform tasks, and people often stay in bed and call in sick. If this is happening to you, then we suggest looking into a California drug rehab in your area.

Are you losing interest in activities you used to enjoy? People that have a problem with either drugs or alcohol often begin to slot down or stop participating in the hobbies they used to love. Substances steal the motivation and interest we used to have, and we often shift or restructure our priorities according to our addictions.

Do you only go places where alcohol is served? We’re obviously not talking about the grocery store or the supermarket. Often times, people that are abusing drugs or alcohol do not want to go places where they cannot get their fix. They decline invitations for dinner at friend’s houses that do not drink, and avoid relatives they disapprove of their drinking. If this is your experience, then you may be in need of a California drug rehab.

Although these aren’t the only indications of a problem with either drugs or alcohol, many people that are suffering from substance abuse have some of these issues. If you are experiencing any of the previously mentioned problems, then there is a strong chance that you have a problem, and should get help in one of the many California drug rehab programs available to you.
